It's not Chongyun doing the damage, it's the Icicle from the sword. I think you misunderstood the problem, it's not "all physical attacks become useless", it's "all physical attacks become cryo attacks", so your artifacts that boost physical damage like Bloodstained 2 set and Pale Flame 2 set suddenly stop working because they only boost physical damage.
Isn't the Snow-Tomb Starsilver useless for Chongyun since the Physical Dmg becomes useless since all his attacks does Cryo Dmg? or am I reading/understanding this wrong? Did they change it again without knowledge?
It's better if you use another claymore as sacrificial claymore is mostly used for ER and elemetal skill reset. Both of these aspects are kinda wasted on him as he has a low elemental skill cd and a low-energy burst. If you want to maximise damage I would recommend the craftable claymore from dragonspine (forgot name; the one that drops ice crystals; good passive but wasted substat) or prototype archaic (overall good weapon). Also please don't use him with Razor. (Zy0x on yt for guides)
diluc's infusion overpowers chongyun regardless, so it doesn't matter.
remove razor from his best teammates ASAP. chongyun literally renders razor completely useless and is the WORST person you can pair up with razor.
Is it alright if I use sacrificial claymore rather than the craftable claymore?
Absolutely wrong, chongyung's skill only infuses normal attacks not skill attacks and bursts, I use chongyun with beidou(for superconduct) & xiangling(for melt).
I don't recommend it because casting Diluc's burst whilst inside Chungyun's skill AoE causes Diluc's weapon to be infused with Cryo and not Pyro
Would Chongyun be a good cryo suppport on a Diluc Main DPS, Rosaria Sub DPS and Jean Healer?
why is razor a part of the recommended team members, he's a physical dps um

hm.. if you use traveler for swirl id use 4p viridescent venerer or at least just the 2p effect of wanderers since 4p wanderers only affects catalyst and bow charged attacks
I gave trav wanderer’s 4 bc I’m only using them for swirl Will switch weapons ty The speed increase is still helpful for Chongyun in my experience Prototype archaic hasn’t changed the atk at all for me guess I built him wrong haha I’m not great at team builds but it’s worked for me Thanks for the tips though yall :)
also.. i would give aquila to bennett for a higher atk boost in his ult, and im not sure why you gave traveler 4p wanderers as the 4p effect is useless on any melee character
no offense but snow tombed is the worst possible weapon you could put on him. his skill converts all physical melee damage into cryo so the phys substat is pretty much useless on him. prototype archaic, another f2p craftable weapon, is all around solid and good for any main dps claymore because of its atk substat. i suggest using that one on him instead of snowtombed. youll see an immediate improvement in damage
2 anemo in party only increased your MOVEMENT speed 15%, not your ATK speed, it also shortens ele cd by 5% and reduce stamina consumption by 15% I enjoy playing Chongy, wish i could c6 him
Hope this can help someone My team with Chongyun as main DPS: Venti as SUPPORT with fav. warbow and instructorx4 for el mastery Bennett as HEALER with fav. sword and scholarx2 exilex2 for energy recharge Anemo trav. for SUPPORT with aquila favonia and wandererx4 Chongyun for DPS with snow-tombed starsilver (dmg against cryo affected enemies up) and gladiatorx4 Two anemo increases speed meaning Chongyun attacks faster Bennett’s el recharge is high for more heals Works well for me :)
The main issue with running Chongyun with Keqing is that Chongyun's elemental skill turns Keqing's normal attack damage into cryo damage if she's standing in the field. Keqing is generally built as either a physical DPS or an electro DPS, so Chongyun's cryo override will lower Keqing's damage output unless she's specifically built to work with Chongyun, which can be a strain on already-tight resources
hello i am Chongyun main and i have Keqing as a support and only use her for her ult and then Bennett's to increase the amount of damage, is it really that bad to have Keqing and Chongyun in the same party?
So i'm a Chongyun Main, I run Chongyun, Fischl, Childe(Xingqiu), Benett team. I think instead on Xianling, Fischl is better since she provides constant Electric Support, if paired with Xingqiu you get Physical Res Decrease and Shatter Damage which great, its best with shyward pride but works with every claymore. I say Exchange Xianling with Fischl ( with EM) .
