Cocijo Location and Boss Guide

Cocijo is a hidden boss and is one of the Local Legends of Natlan located in Ameyalco Waters of Genshin Impact 5.0. Check out where to find it and how to beat it in this guide!

Where to Find Cocijo

Found in Ameyalco Waters

Go to the circular arena to the south of the Toyac Springs Statue of the Seven and break all Electro Crystals around the arena using Pyro characters. After breaking all of them, Cocijo will appear in the middle of the arena.

How to Defeat Cocijo

Use Pyro Characters to Break Shields

Cocijo will generate Electro shields throughout the fight and it is more effectively broken if hit with Pyro-infused attacks. Make sure to have a team that can apply Pyro generously so you can break its shield more effectively.

Cheese the Fight by Standing On A Nearby Boulder

Cocijo will have a spinning move (similar to that of the Ruin Guard) that can easily KO your on-field character. This move is extremely hard to evade and your stamina can deplete quickly if not managed correctly.

To cheese this fight, we suggest going to the boulder near the water just outside the arena. Cocijo won't be able to climb up, but you can attack safely from the top. Slowly whittle down its health this way!

Beware of Lightning Storms

Cocijo has a move that calls upon lightning that tracks the position of your character. This will still hit you even if you're on top of the boulder so jump down and evade properly when Cocijo starts doing the move.

Cheese with a Koholasaur and Furina

Alternatively, if you have Furina, you can indwell a nearby Koholasaur and stand at the edge of the arena and do the following steps:

1. Eject from the Koholasaur
2. Use Furina's Elemental Skill
3. Quickly indwell into the spiritsconce
4. Wait for the Salon Members to disappear
5. Repeat

Take note that you have to indwell into the spiritsconce as soon as you summon the Salon Members to avoid getting Cocijo's attention. Taking Cocijo down this way will also take a while due to its massive health pool.

Since you won't actually initiate a fight with Cocijo, letting the Salon Members whittle down its health will also prevent Cocijo from generating shields, which makes this cheese an effortless way to get the second achievement.

Cocijo Achievement Strategy

Unlike most of the other Local Legends in Natlan, Cocijo's achievement requires you to defeat him before he forms his thunderthorn shield.

Cocijo's shield is built based on the number of times you deal damage to him, requiring you to limit your hits, making this a difficult achievement.

Take Advantage of Melt or Vaporize

Cocijo can only take about 34 instances of damage before he pops his shield, and with this you can take advantage of Elemental Reactions that amplify a single instance of damage such as Melt or Vaporize.

High-multiplier single-instance attacks like Navia's Elemental Skill, Tartaglia's Elemental Burst, Heizou's Elemental Skill and the like can be utilized either alone or as an Elemental Reaction trigger to deal massive damage.

Lower Your World Level

You can slightly cheese this further by lowering your World Level, leading to Cocijo having less health and potentially lowering the required hits you need to kill it.

Use a Koholasaur and Furina

One of the most effective way to get this achievement is done with a Koholasaur and Furina, as explained above in detail above.

Let Furina's Salon Members (her Elemental Skill) attack Cocijo while you hide inside a Koholasaur. When the skill expires, get out of the Koholasaur, summon the Salon Members again, and repeat.

Cheese it With Co-op

Another way you can do this achievement is by having someone else in your Co-op world, then getting your high-damage abilities recharged elsewhere while they prevent Cocijo from resetting.

Doing it this way is more convenient because you can have more reliable attacks in your arsenal with the convenience of having someone else hold it in place while you get your abilities back.

Navia and Xiangling will deal huge damage to Cocijo, with Xiangling shredding its electro shield whenever it is up. Zhongli and Bennett will be supporters that ensure survivability for the entire team.

Considering Pyro is really great against this Local Legend, a mono-pyro team with Lyney would be a great option. We've slotted in Zhongli for the purpose of survivability.
