One of the Adepti in Liyue

Cloud Retainer is one of the remaining Adepti found in the region of Liyue. She generally spends her time away from humans and human settlements, but occasionally visit her fellow Adepti such as Ganyu in Liyue Harbor.

Made a Contract with Morax in the Past

Cloud Retainer, as well as many other Adepti like Xiao and Mountain Shaper, once made a contract with Rex Lapis to protect Liyue Harbor and its people.

During times of danger, such as the Archon Wars during which the contract was made, the Adepti promised to defend and protect Liyue from any threat or harm.

Holds Great Respect for Rex Lapis

Cloud Retainer held great respect and affection for Rex Lapis. In her words, her and the other Adepti had 'protected Liyue Harbor for 37 Centuries under the leadership of Rex Lapis,' showing the extent of her loyalty.

When she first found out about Rex Lapis' supposed death in Archon Quest Chapter 1 Act 1, Of the Land Amidst Monoliths, she even threatened to flatten the entirety of Liyue Harbor to find the culprit!

The entrance to Cloud Retainer's abode is at the top of Mt. Aocang. In front of the entrance is a lake with a small island at the center, where a stone table and seats can be found under the shade of a large tree.

This area is where Cloud Retainer, Rex Lapis, and Guizhong used to have meals together. There is also a fishing spot found in this lake!

Dislikes Having Guests

During the Archon Quest Chapter 1: Act 1, it was shown that Cloud Retainer wasn't one to receive guests very often, not letting the Traveler stay in her abode for longer than necessary.

Cloud Retainer is the Adeptus who had raised and trained Shenhe as one of her disciples. Shenhe regards her as her Master and obediently follows her teachings.

During the Moonlight Merriment event, Cloud Retainer was revealed to have a hobby in invention and engineering. She created a Supreme Cuisine Machine which aims to cook various dishes more efficiently.

Cloud Retainer also created the Cloud Retainer's Damasked Device from the ''Of Travels and Treasures'' event, and implied to have made Yaoyao's bunny companion, Yuegui.

In one of their gatherings in Mt. Aocang, Rex Lapis ought to judge Guizhong and Cloud Retainers' works, to which it was declared that the former's mechanism were better.
