A freeze team is the best counter for the Specters, so you can use the grouping abilities of your Fungi to pull-in all enemies and combine elements to do Freeze.

Using the Whirling Pyro Fungus is recommended to remove the Large Cryo Slime's shield. It can also do Melt reactions to your Frozen foes!

To prevent the dangerous Specters from doing damage to both your Fungi and the Monolith, you can use Freeze to stop any attacks and movement.

How to Get 2000 Points in Zone Defense Day 3

Group up enemies away from the Monolith

When using your Fungi's pull-in abilities, it might be tempting to do it in the middle of the stage, but this is risky as the Specters will explode on the spot when you defeat them, which in turn damages your Monolith.

The pull-in ability of your Floating Anemo Fungi is actually so strong that you can just focus target the farthest one. The Specters will then coalesce together. Only use this ability if the Anemo Fungi is away from the monolith!

Utilize the Hydro and Cryo Slimes

The Large Hydro and Cryo Slimes in the field are actually your hint to use Freeze! You can swirl all opponents to one spot, and use Hydro or Cryo to spread the elements and put them in place.

Protect the Monolith above 60%

Aim to protect your Monolith's HP above 60%, and have none of your Fungi to be incapacitated to get 2000 points. An HP of around 50% to 60% will still give you 2000 points, but it's far too risky if you go below the recommended percentage.
