I took the drawing around, asking anyone who might know, and finally learned from Xingqiu that such evil spirits originate from Natlan, and can only be fully vanquished in hot springs or magma. Quite a tricky business indeed...

Timaeus has been downcast for some time. Although he hasn't said much, I suspect his experiment to create an immaculate flower for his beloved has failed. This, I fear, might still be too challenging for him.

I chose not to assist, however. He must earn this success alone for it to hold any true value, and I trust he hasn't forgotten his original intent. Whether it be flower or ash, what truly matters is not losing the way due to a momentary setback on the journey.

Speaking of which, how is your journey in Natlan going? By chance, I came across a few pieces of Spinel Fruit from that land. Some ancient texts mention that these crystals are related to Phlogiston. The refining and preservation of Phlogiston within an alchemical creation is a subject that intrigues me greatly. As such, would you be interested in exploring this with me?

Clorinde Birthday Message

No duel will be postponed or rearranged due to a Duelist's personal reasons. Fortunately, there's only one duel scheduled today, so I'll be able to finish my work on time and use my personal time to celebrate my birthday. I had planned to go hunting to unwind a bit. But Navia rushed over, saying she wanted to host today. She justified herself by saying that she has come up with plenty of "challenges" for me. So she'd like me to bring some well-coordinated companions and enjoy the explorations and adventures within the story. It's typical of her, and in the end, I was "persuaded." After completing a painting, I like to take it out from time to time to admire the work.

People say that the purpose of a painting is to capture the beauty of a moment for eternity. But even the highest quality paints will crack with time, and that moment's beauty will long have begun to fade

However, I don't mind this change at all.

When I find that the paint has begun to dry and flake, I will often brush over the fissures with new strokes, and the new piece thus created is one I can continue to cherish.

Just as people enjoy regular gatherings, seeing the wrinkles left by long years of hardships, worries and lament of one another's faces thickens the bonds between freinds.

Or perhaps for a painting, time itself is a kind of pigment.

Today, Lyney and Lynette used magic to create a small cake for me. The cake has a lot of different fresh fruits arranged on top, with dollops of cream frosting crowded in between that reminded me of water droplets. It looked really delicious. I wanted to cut a piece for you, but I just couldn't find the right angle to cut it, though I tried for a long time. The cake really is just too perfect. After discussing with Lynsey and Lynette, I've decided to place the whole thing in a box, and bring it over to share with you.

We took care to walk slowly, so it shouldn't have gotten bumped or jostled on the way.

Cake is a luxury, but friends are even more precious.

The Kamisato Clan's meals are primarily planned for the purpose of entertaining guests and discussing important matters. As such, etiquette is the highest priority, and the food itself is of secondary importance. Though the chef takes such great care to prepare a variety of dishes, I do not have the chance to properly savor them, and it is an awful shame indeed.
