Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada is reportedly looking for a new job as stated on his LinkedIn, fueling rumors of him leaving Bandai Namco, his home of 30 years and the origins of the beloved Tekken series.

The news was spotted by Japanese video game news account Genki_JPN on X (Twitter), sharing a screenshot of Harada’s LinkedIn. On post written just an hour ago, Harada detailed that he is looking for a new position and new opportunities, adding that he is #OpenToWork. His profile picture also bears the #OpenToWork frame. Currently, he is looking for positions such as Executive Producer, Game Director, Business Development, Vice President, or a Marketing position, and the position must be based in Tokyo.

This has made fans worry for him and the future of the series, with almost all of the replies to the post tagging the Tekken director for confirmation.

Harada Responds That There’s Nothing To Worry About

Known for his massive presence and active usage of X (Twitter), it’s no surprise that Harada quickly dispelled the rumors surrounding his alleged exit from Bandai Namco. As it turns out, he’s not leaving Bandai at all—he’s just wanting to collaborate and talk to more people in the industry.

He responded to a fan who tagged him in the news post, saying that there is nothing to worry about. "I meet a lot of people on a regular basis (but I don't actually have that many friends in my private world LOL), I just want to meet more people and expand my horizons in the future," he wrote, adding that turning this option on in LinkedIn lets him talk to more people on the site.

Following Harada's confirmation of the events, the post by Genki_JPN has also been deleted to avoid any further confusion.

With that said, Tekken fans may hope to see the classic title grow even more and even feature more collaborations. Recently, Tekken 8 collaborated with Final Fantasy 16, featuring protagonist Clive Rosfield as its newest fighter. Other FF16 characters such as Jill and Joshua (even Nektar the Moogle!) are also available through skins and accessories. Harada broadening his network will surely bring in more flavor and ideas to the franchise.
