Pokemon Legends Arceus - How to Catch Sleeping Pokemon
Pokemon have a chance to fall asleep in spawn areas throughout the Hisui Region in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Read on to learn how to catch sleeping Pokemon, where to find sleeping Pokemon, and the difference between sleeping and the drowsy status condition.

How to Catch Sleeping Pokemon

1
Look for the Sleeping Pokemon, who will usually sit or lie down in one place. A faint snoring sound will also indicate if the Pokemon is sleeping.
Sneak towards the Pokemon and ready your Pokeball.
2
Sneak up behind the Pokemon to perform a backstrike to catch it. Use stronger Pokeballs, such as Ultra Balls or Gigaton Balls for larger and evovled Pokemon.

What are Sleeping Pokemon?

Pokemon Legends Arceus - Sleeping Shinx

Sleeping Pokemon are found throughout the Hisui Region and are indicated by a light snoring sound. They are less likely to react to your presence, making it easier to sneak up behind and catch it with a backstrike.

Pokemon will still react and wake up when the player gets close enough, runs close to them, or if food is thrown near the area so it's still a good idea to keep some distance.

When to See Sleeping Pokemon

Pokemon Legends Arceus - Rest Time

Pokemon will randomly fall asleep as they interact with the environment, but are more likely to do so when the in-game time changes from midday to evening.

Changing the time by resting until midday and letting time pass until evening is a good way to find Pokemon sleeping in their spawn areas.

Sleeping vs Drowsy Status Condition

Pokemon Legends Arceus - Drowsy
Drowsy is a status condition that you can only inflict during battles with moves like Hypnosis and makes Pokemon less likely to attack during their turn.

It's not possible to put Pokemon to sleep on the field by inflicting the Drowsy status condition in battle.
