How to Ride Pokemon: All Rideable Pokemon

Rideable Pokemon are a new feature introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus that eases traveling in the Hisui region by allowing you to ride Pokemon. Read on to learn how to ride Pokemon and which Pokemon you can ride!

How to Ride Pokemon

Press + to Summon the Ride Pokemon

Once unlocked, press the + button in the overworld to summon the Ride Pokemon. The Celestica Flute will play and you will begin riding the Pokemon.

You will get the Celestica Flute during your adventure, which allows you to summon Ride Pokemon.

Each Warden responsible for the Pokemon will teach you how to summon them as your progress through the game.

After getting permission to use the Pokemon, you will be able to summon them as you move around the Hisui region.

Press the Left or Right D-Pad buttons to change which Pokemon you want to use. You can also change the Pokemon while you are riding them!

Rideable Pokemon and How to Unlock

Dash quickly by holding B and pressing Y to leap into the air.
Leave Jubilife Village with Mai during The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods and you'll speak to Adaman at the Heights Camp. Once you are given the Celestica Flute you can summon Wyrdeer.

Follow the radar until it pings red and press Y to dig up treasure.
After returning the Wall Fragment to Warden Calaba in Arezu's Predicament, head over to Sludge Mound to fight Ursaluna. After defeating him you'll be able to summon him.
Basculegion ImageBasculegion Surfing
Skim quickly over water holding B and leap into the air with Y.
Assist Warden Iscan in creating Basculegion's favourite food in The Lordless Land. After meeting at Ginkgo Landing to summon him, you'll unlock Basculegion.
Sneasler ImageSneasler Climbing
Press against sheer rock faces and press A to summon Sneasler. Descend using Y to get down safely.
Beyond the Ancient Quarry in Scaling Perilous Heights, Warden Ingo will challenge you to a battle. Defeat him to gain access to Sneasler.
Hisuian Braviary ImageHisuian Braviary Flying
Press A when falling to summon Braviary. To speed up hold B and to dive down to the ground press Y.
Follow Sabi through the Alabaster Icelands and proceed through Snowpoint Temple in The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra. Once you've caught up, defeat Sabi and Braviary. Defeating them will unlock Braviary.

These rideable Pokemon work similarly like HMs from previous Pokemon games, as it allows traversal of areas that were previously inaccessible.

On the other hand, the Poke Ride mechanic from Pokemon Sun and Moon is quite similar from the Ride Pokemon in Legends: Arceus, as you can choose which Pokemon to ride on and take advantage of its unique abilities.

Basculegion allows you to traverse the bodies of water and reach islands.

Y button: Jump/Double jump
ZR button: Aim item/Enter bullet time (while in the air)

How to Get Basculegion

Fly with Hisuian Braviary

Fly with Hisuian Braviary in the Sky
Hisuian Braviary lets you soar through the sky and travel great distances with ease.

Additionally, Hisuian Braviary will lift you off the ground after summoning it, allowing you ascend from low levels!

Gain Altitude with Hisuian Braviary

Hisuian Braviary Gains Altitude

Although riding Hisuian Braviary seems more like gliding rather than flying, there is actually a trick to gain altitude while riding the noble. To do this, simply press the Y, +, and A buttons in that order and in rapid succession. It takes a few tries to get the timing right but this is the only way we have found to gain altitude.

It doesn't have a lot of practical uses other than reaching higher places that Sneasler can't climb like the Glacier in Avalugg's Legacy and Snowpoint Temple.

Ride Wyrdeer on Land

Ride Wydeer on Land
Wyrdeer takes you across the land by letting you hop on its back. You can ride Wyrdeer to quickly move across the map.

Wyrdeer can also jump to reach elevated places and climb on small hills as long as it is not too steep.

Ride Ursaluna to Dig for Treasure

Ursaluna can detect spots that have hidden items, similar to the Dowsing Machine in other Pokemon games. Follow the signal in front of Ursaluna's nose to locate treasures!
