This article provides an overview between the Agile Style and Strong Style in Pokemon Legends Arceus. Read on to learn how to use the Agile Style and Strong Style moves, how to master moves, the two Styles' pros and cons, and when best to use them.
List of Contents
Before you can use the Strong and Agile Style, you first have to master the move by heading to the Training Grounds or leveling up your Pokemon.
Once a move has been mastered, you can switch between its Styles in battle.
Moves that can be used in Agile Style or Strong Style are indicated by a Scroll Icon next to the move's name.
While hovering over the move you want to use, pressing the shoulder buttons (L and R) allow you to switch between Strong Style and Agile Style.
After using Play Rough in Agile Style, it consumed 2 PP instead of one.
While attacking regularly only uses up one PP, opting to attack in the Strong Style or Agile Style will require the Pokemon to use up 2 PP for the move. Being aware of your Pokemon's remaining PP and strategizing around it will be key to surviving well on your research expeditions.
Zisu can teach your Pokemon to master one of its moves in exchange for one Seed of Mastery.
Head to the Training Grounds in Jubilife Village and talk to Zisu near the entrance. Select the I want to master new moves
and choose the Pokemon you want to train. From your Pokemon's moveset, select the move you want to master.
Aside from using the Training Grounds, your Pokemon will eventually master moves by leveling up your Pokemon. When a Pokemon has mastered a move via level up, you will be notified on the left side of your screen after a battle or catching a Pokemon.

Agile Style |
Strong Style |
The Action Order (seen on the top right) is affected by the selected Style.
Using a move in the Agile Style raises the user's action speed, which may make the users next turn come sooner, allowing for consecutive attacks. On the other hand, using a move in the Strong style will delay your Pokemon's next turn.
In other words, Agile Style allows you to move consecutively, while Strong Style will allow the opponent to move consectuively.
Agile Style |
Strong Style |
An Agile Style hit dealt around 40% of the opponents HP, while a Strong Style hit dealt enough to deplete the remaining HP (at least 60%).
Using a move in Agile Style trades in move succession at the expense of reducing the move's power. This allows your Pokemon to attack sooner, although with less power.
Conversely, using a move in Strong Style increases the move's power and is best used when you are sure to take down an opponent in one hit. Otherwise, you may have to worry about the opponent attacking multiple times in retaliation.
Using the Agile Style is highly recommended when maximizing move count before an enemy gets to their turn. This can be especially useful against longer and drawn out battles where having an extra turn could prove useful.
By having a stronger attack power, Strong Style is recommended for finishing blows and for dealing massive damage in general. By using Strong Style as a finisher, you can benefit from the stronger hit without worrying about delayed turns.
Though both style are helpful depending on the situation, sometimes, it is best to just use regular moves especially when battling against weaker Pokemon. This ensures that you do not waste PP on adding styles to your moves when not necessary.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus introduces Agile and Strong Styles, giving the series' traditional turn-based battle a spin by having battle styles that affect turn order and attack power depending on the selected style at the cost of more PP.
Using a move in the Agile Style raises the user’s action speed, which may make the user’s next turn come sooner, but lowers the move’s power.
On the other hand, using a move in the Strong Style raises the move’s power, but your Pokémon’s action speed will be lowered.
Normal attacks are still available without the added benefits of styles. This is recommended to use when battling low-level wild Pokemon to save up on your Pokemon's attack PP.
