Basculegion (Female) |
White-Striped Basculin, as it's known, is not technically a Hisuian form, though it does look different from the Basculin of previous Pokemon games.
Previously known forms of Basculin are the Red-Striped Basculin and Blue-Striped Basculin. Neither of which can be found in Hisui, and neither of them are known to evolve into Basculegion.
Another piece of evidence that supports the idea that it isn't a Hisuian form is that it has the same typing and stats as the Basculin we've known in previous games.
In the previous Pokemon games, several Pokemon take on new forms such as the Alolan Form seen in Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as the Galar Form from Pokemon Sword and Shield.
In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Hisuian Pokemon are regional forms of familiar Pokemon that have adapted to the Hisui region. Apart from their change in appearance, all Hisuian regional forms also have different typings and movesets!
New Pokemon and Regional Variants
As Pokemon: Legends Arceus takes place in the past, the Hisuian Form Pokemon take on a distinct design inspired by ancient Japan. One of these includes the Hisuian Growlithe, whose design is based on the lion-dog statues seen in Japanese shrines.
