How Many Pokemon are in the National Dex?

There Are Over 800 Pokemon in the National Dex

Pokemon Legends Arceus Legendaries
Because a partial National Pokedex is not in the game, a complete National Pokedex will not be in it either. A complete National Dex of all 898 currently known Pokemon will not make an appearance in this game, as that might be too many for the game's engine to carry and it would be overkill, especially given that the game is less focused on Pokemon battles and more interested in Pokemon research and discovery. Instead, the game will have a Hisui Pokedex of 242 Pokemon, which you will be completing throughout the course of the game.

Most of the 1st 493 Pokemon Appear

Pokemon Legends Arceus Hisui Pokedex

Pokemon from the first 4 Generations will populate most of the 242 Hisui Pokedex entries, with only some Pokemon from Generations 5 through 8 thrown into the mix.

Additionally, with Pokemon HOME support announced to be coming in 2022 for Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it's highly likely we'll see interaction and the ability to transfer Pokemon between the titles. Released in November 2021, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's Pokedex only contained all 493 Pokemon of the first 4 generations.
