This is a list of all Food items in Pokemon Legends: Arceus for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn about all the Foods available in the game, how to feed Pokemon, and tips regarding Food and Preferred Food of Pokemon.
List of Contents
To feed Pokemon, you need to throw a Food item from your Satchel.
Throwing Food works the same way as throwing Poke Balls. Select an item from your Satchel, aim with the ZR button, and release to throw it.
If you throw Food too far from your target, it may not notice it. Throw it to the Pokemon as near as possible.
Advantages of Feeding Wild Pokemon |
---|
Not Distracted | Distracted with Food |
---|---|
Harder to catch |
Easier to catch |
When the camera is locked on a Pokemon, it will usually have an icon with one arrow on top of it. This means that it may still escape out of a Poke Ball when attempting to catch it.
When a Pokemon is eating, the arrows will be increased to two, meaning that catching it will be easier as it is currently busy eating!
Alpha Pokemon can be distracted with Food so you can either safely get past through it or give yourself an advantage if you want to battle it by walking up to its back and throwing your Pokemon to catch it unaware.
When a Pokemon is eating, it will focus on the Food you have thrown, and will more likely not notice you if you approach it stealthily. Use this opportunity to cut the distance and throw Poke Balls as close as you can.
Heavy Balls cannot be used from afar due to its weight, but is more effective when used in close quarters. Once you are close to a Pokemon, you can use a Heavy Ball for a higher chance to capture the Pokemon
For several Pokemon, feeding it Food is a Research Task, which you need to do a few times. This is a useful method of raising a Pokemon's Research Level, as by simply feeding it you can level it up!
Examples of Pokemon with Feeding Research Tasks | |
---|---|
Kricketot | Togepi |
If a Pokemon gets directly hit with any Food you've thrown, it will get surprised and run away. When aiming Food, make sure to not be too far or close to it and target the area in front of the Pokemon.
Wild Pokemon will only eat food that they prefer. If you throw Food that it doesn't like, it may run away, so check if the Food you are about to throw is preferred by the Pokemon.
Your own Pokemon will not eat Food that you have thrown. Food is only meant as a bait for wild Pokemon!
