Not Possible After Character Creation Early in the Game

Arceus - You cannot change your name and gender after deciding them

Just like in previous Pokemon games, you can only set up your name and gender at the beginning of the game. Once done, you cannot change it in-game anymore.

Be sure to pick a name and gender you're comfortable with before you continue with your journey!

Change It by Adding a New Switch User

You can change your name and gender by starting a new game using a new Switch user. However, doing so would require you to play the game from the beginning. You can follow the steps below to create a new user on your Nintendo Switch.

Steps
1 Home Switch
Go to System Settings.
2 Add User
Go to Users and press Add User.
3 Create New User
Click Create New User.
4 Pick Icon
Pick an icon for the new user.
5 Name User
Give a name to the new user.
6 User Created
Account created succesfully!

Restart the Game

It is also possible to change your name and gender by restarting the game. Do this by deleting your current Pokemon Legends: Arceus save file on your Switch. Doing so means you can start the game all over again from the beginning - giving you another shot at a better name and a gender to your liking.
