Save your progress by accessing the save screen in Pokemon Legends: Arceus for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to know how to save the game, as well as how Autosave works.

To save your progress, press the Up button to open the menu, use ZL or ZR to navigate to the Save screen, and press the A button to save the game manually.

Is There Autosave?

Autosave is Available

Autosave is available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus and enabled by default. A Now Saving... notification will appear on the top right corner whenever progress is being saved. This can be triggered by entering or leaving buildings, as well as capturing wild Pokemon in the open areas.

Can be Turned Off in the Settings

To turn off Autosave, press the Up button to open the menu, head to the Help screen and choose Settings, then scroll down to Autosave option and choose Disable. After that, press the B button to save and exit.

Should You Use Autosave?

Choosing Autosave Depends on Your Playstyle

Whether it's better to use the Autosave feature depends on your playstyle and what you hope to get out of playing Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

For players looking for a more casual experience (who might not need to collect every single Pokemon, for instance), turning on Autosave will ensure that you don't lose much progress should you be defeated in battle.

For those players who are looking to complete the game (and don't want to risk missing out on anything like catching a Legendary Pokemon), turning Autosave off is the way to go. This will allow you to restart the game from an earlier point should you accidentally defeat a Pokemon instead of catching it.
