Start the Game to Create Your Character

Character creation in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is similar to how it's always been. After selecting your language at the start of the game, you will choose your gender and skin tone. Then, you will be asked for your name.
Note that the choices you will make are permanent and you won't be able to change any of them after confirming. Be sure to look over the gender, skin tone, and name of the character before proceeding.

There are eight appearance choices to choose from in the beginning, four skin tones for both boy and girl. You can change both eye and hair color later!

You can use the usual Switch keyboard to type the name you want. Either use your controller to type, or tap the touch screen in hand-held mode.

You can go to Jubilife Village's Clothier and Hairdresser to change your clothing and hairstyle respectively. More customization options will be unlocked as you progress through the game.
Customize Clothing at the Clothier
You can customize and change your clothes at Jubilife Village's Clothier. You can purchase different clothing such as kimonos, suits, hats, and masks.

You can get a free Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set and a Baneful Fox Mask when you purchase the game early. You can also get a free Garchomp Kimono Set when you preorder the game via Amazon US or Amazon JP.
Customize Hairstyle at the Hairdresser
Similarly, you have the option to customize and change your hairstyle by visiting Jubilife Village's Hairdresser. Trailers have revealed 8 new hairstyles that have a variety of colors and lengths.
