Who are Akari And Rei?

Akari is the female protagonist in Pokemon Legends: Arceus while Rei is the male protagonist. You get to play as one of these characters in the game with the other one as another Galaxy Expedition Team member.

During the opening cutscene, the main character wakes up in a mysterious realm where they are called by a bright light. A voice, which later revealed itself as a silhouette of Arceus, then tasks the player to seek out strange creatures in another world known as Pokemon.

Survey Corps Members

As a member of the Survey Corps, you and your partner (Akari/Rei) are tasked to study various areas in the Hisui region including the Pokemon that live there.

You'll be carrying out different assignments or requests throughout the game. Luckily, Jubilife Village boasts a range of useful institutions and services -such as trading posts, which can help you complete the land's first-ever Pokedex!

Similarity to Lucas and Dawn

Akari and Rei look quite similar to Diamond and Pearl's Lucas and Dawn. However, it hasn't been confirmed whether they are related. It could be that Lucas and Dawn are descendants of Akari and Rei!

Just like Akari and Rei, Lucas and Dawn are assistants to Professor Rowan, Commander Kamado's descendant. In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, they also do research on Pokemon in order to complete the Pokedex.

Lucas and Dawn were also responsible in saving the world in Pokemon BDSP by stopping Team Galactic from abusing the legendary Pokemon Dialga and Palkia. It is notable, however, that Akari and Rei are working with the Galaxy Expedition Team. We still don't know what major role they will play in Pokemon Legends: Arceus or if they will save the world just like Lucas and Dawn.
