Eternal Battle Reverie Mechanics

Eternal Battle Reverie Steps

1 Choose battle category.
2 Earn points based on difficulty of chosen opponent.
3 Use points for Wishes to help you in the challenge.
4 Defeat your opponent, repeat step 1, and try to win as much as possible!
5 Reach 50 consecutive wins to battle Arceus!

What you will face against will be up to you, but since you can only choose from three battle categories, it is recommended that you bring a well-balanced team.

Battle Pokemon and Build a Win Streak

Battling Pokemon Consecutively

In the Eternal Battle Reverie, you will need to defeat Pokemon one after another in a continuous set of battles. Before each battle, you get to choose a battle category that will determine your opponent. A Pokemon within that category will appear for the challenge.

Each Pokemon you defeat increases your win streak. The longer your win streak, the better the rewards you will gain after the challenge.

Choosing battle categories

Choosing battle categories

You will be prompted to choose from three categories before each battle. These categories will dictate what and how many Pokemon will face you during the battle.

Based on your choice, you may battle regular Pokemon, or you may opt to battle Legendary Pokemon, which can yield bigger rewards.

Multiple Pokemon may appear at once

Battling Three Pokemon

Some battle categories will require you to face multiple Pokemon. You can face them in pairs, or even in trios, and you need to defeat them all to move on to the next round.

When multiple Pokemon appear, their levels will be scaled down a little.

Pokemon are high-leveled

PLA Eternal Battle Reverie High Leveled Pokemon

The Pokemon that appear in the Eternal Battle Reverie are extremely powerful, ranging from levels 80-100 for Single Battles and levels 60-80 when facing multiple Pokemon, so it is best to bring the strongest Pokemon that you have and train them up beforehand to prepare them for battle.

The levels of your opponents increases depending on your current win streak.

# of Consecutive Wins 1-10 11-20 21+
Single Battle Level 80 Level 90 Level 100
Double/Triple Battle Level 60 Level 70 Level 80

Recommended to Earn Training Items

Unown in ERB

Finishing a session of Eternal Battle Reverie will reward you with training items, such as Exp. Candies and Grit items, which can be very useful for raising and training Pokemon. If you are grinding for these items, it is recommended to partake in the challenge.

Earn and Use Points to Get Wishes

Points

Wish Points

After each battle in the Eternal Battle Reverie, you earn a certain amount of points depending on the difficulty of the battle, and will be based on which battle category you will choose.

You can use these points in between each battle to get Wishes before the next battle starts.

Wishes are special bonuses that can be purchased before starting a battle. The effects of these wishes are then applied on your next battle. It will then disappear after clearing the fight and you need to purchase them again from Arceus if you want to use another.

Quitting EBR.png

If you want to quit Eternal Battle Reverie, simply choose 'Quit" when talking to Arceus in between battles.

Take note that you cannot runaway during battles via the Run option, so if you want to quit while in the middle of an encounter, you need to finish the battle by defeating your opponents or letting all of your Pokemon faint.

Battle Arceus on Your 50th Challenge

arceus battle
For your 50th challenge, you will face Arceus in a challenge called The Might of Sinnoh. This will be like any other battle where you simply have to beat 1 Pokemon, albeit a much stronger one. Completing this challenge will earn you 50 points.

After beating Arceus, you will have the option to continue your challenge and prolong your win streak.

Eternal Battle Reverie Best Team

Kleavor ImageKleavor Hisuian Goodra ImageHisuian Goodra Ursaluna ImageUrsaluna
Cresselia ImageCresselia Arceus ImageArceus Weavile ImageWeavile

A good mix of fast Pokemon and defensive Pokemon would be ideal for Eternal Battle Reverie. You might notice that all of our recommended Pokemon have one move slot for a recovery move.

This is because recovering HP with points is very expensive and not a practical way to spend points. Pokemon who can heal their own HP are very valuable because it lets us use our points more efficiently.

We would ideally want to maximize every Pokemon's Effort Level for all of their stats. But since resources are limited, we have included which stats you might want to prioritize for each Pokemon.

  • Kleavor - How to Get and Location, Evolution, and Research Tasks

Kleavor is a great Pokemon to lead with early on in your playthrough. Its decent speed and attack stat allows it to mow through easy challenges with minimal effort. Later on in your run, Kleavor's Close Combat may prove useful against Large-bodied Pokemon (Mamoswine, Regigigas) or Strong Defense (Bastiodon). Rock Slide is useful against male Incarnate Pokemon, Thundurus and Tornadus (but not Landorus), as well as female Incarnate Pokemon, Enamorus.

Its X-Scissor is great for fighting the Lunar Pokemon, Cresselia, often 2HKO-ing it.

Ursaluna is especially good against Giratina (The Banished Pokemon) and Palkia thanks to its Play Rough. Headlong Rush is great against Poison-type challenges, as well as all the challenges that could have Ground weaknesses. Ice Punch is great against all Incarnate and Therian Pokemon.

Hisuian Goodra's main contribution to our team is to hit things for super-effective damage. Its Bolt-Beam coverage in Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, as well as Hydro Pump gives it an edge in most matchups. Its typing allows it to resist many attacks and consistently 2HKO things that it might fail to OHKO.

    Moves

  • Moonblast
  • Calm Mind
  • Lunar Blessing
  • Cresselia - How to Get and Location, Evolution, and Research Tasks
Cresselia's offense is uncharacteristically decent in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Setting up Calm Minds and using Lunar Blessing in between lets Cresselia 1v1 the likes of Giratina even if Giratina can hit it for super-effective damage. (provided Cresselia is at level 100). Psychic and Moonblast provides Cresselia with excellent coverage, allowing it to damage Fighting-types as well as Dark-types, letting it be an excellent option in the Climbing Claws challenge.

For Climbing Claws, Using Moonblast to immediately KO Weavile is a strong option because Sneasler does not have any move that can hit Cresselia for substantial damage.

Cresselia's other contribution to the team is sacrificing HP through wishes to increase the points that you gain. It can easily heal back the HP that it loses with Lunar Blessing.

  • Arceus - How to Get and Location, Evolution, and Research Tasks

Arceus is possibly the second best Pokemon to use in Eternal Battle Reverie. It's incredible overall stats as well as move coverage and access to Recover make it incredibly difficult for your opponents to take
down. If using the Legend Plate on Arceus, its Judgment attack will always hit opponents for super-effective damage. However it is also a good choice to use the Iron Plate, because a Steel-type Arceus will have a plethora of resistances.

If opting to use a Steel-type Arceus, Judgement can be swapped out for another coverage move such as Sludge Bomb or Shadow Ball. Both options are good, as an Arceus who has used the Legend Plate will only have a weakness to Fighting, a type you can avoid fighting in Eternal Battle Reverie should you choose.

This set will be walled by Steel-types. So having a healthy Ursaluna is good to have in the back so that Arceus can preserve the PP of its moves.

    Moves
  • Ice Shard
  • Night Slash
  • Ice Punch
  • Aerial Ace
  • Weavile - How to Get and Location, Evolution, and Research Tasks

Weavile's main purpose in this team is to consistently win 1v1's. Alternating between Agile Style Ice Shard and regular Ice Shard deprives the opponent from ever having a turn to use a move. This is a strategy that was found by Twitter User, Anubis. Consider changing the Weavile slot to a different Pokemon if you want a tougher challenge, but if you want a consistent way to win, Weavile + Ice Shard will rarely lose.

Do make sure to replenish its PP though. This strategy is great against The Might of Sinnoh (Arceus), and also against The Banished Pokemon (Giratina).

Eternal Battle Reverie Tips & Strategies

Try to Bring Level 80+ Pokemon

Your Pokemon should ideally be at level 100, but level 85 should suffice. Trial and error at the Eternal Battle Reverie is an efficient way to level up your Pokemon. It rewards them with Exp. Points, Exp. Candy, Rare Candy and Grit Items that you receive at the end of your playthroughs. You can then use these further strengthen your team.

The most efficient way to conserve HP and PP is by ending matches in one move. Powerful, high-level Pokemon can help us achieve this because they can more consistently score decisive knock outs on opponents.

Use Grit items to improve stats

    Max Stats

To improve your chances of dominating the battles in Eternal Battle Reverie, maximize your Pokemon's stats by using Grit items on it.

    List of Grit Items
    Grit Dust
    Grit Gravel
    Grit Pebbles
    Grit Rocks

    Earn Points Early On

    Earn Wish Points

Since you will be facing Level 80 Pokemon during your first 10 battles, you will have a relatively easy experience compared to the next challenges. Earn as much points as possible by selecting battle categories that yield bigger points.

Pokemon with high Speed and Attack stats are especially useful at Eternal Battle Reverie, because we would always want to get through battles with minimal effort by quickly OHKO-ing the opposing Pokemon.

    Use Sacrifice HP Wish

Try using the Sacrifice HP wish as much as possible to double your point output. You can use this on the Pokemon in your party with high HP.

Do try to avoid sacrificing the health of Pokemon that you will send out in battle.

    Look out for Easy Battles

Easy battles score less points, but will help prolong your win streak. These are battles like Strange-shaped Pokemon (Unown), One-eyed Pokemon (Magnemite, Unown or Dusknoir), Little Pokemon (Pichu or Cleffa). Pick battles according to your team composition, or what matchups will be favorable for your lead Pokemon.

    HP Recovery is Very Valuable

Tanky Pokemon with good offensive stats are very useful especially if they have access to an HP recovering move. Moves that recover HP are valuable because you won't need to spend points on restoring one Pokemon' health, freeing up your points to be used on other things like restoring PP for the whole party or changing your lead pokemon. These are more efficient uses for your points. Save 'Restore HP' for when one of your more powerful Pokemon get KO'd.

Having a Pokemon with lots of HP and a recovery move will allow you to use the 'Sacrifice HP for double points' wish option consistently with minimal drawback.

    Take Note of Turn Order

Be sure to always pay attention to the turn order seen on the right side of the screen. Use this information to help you decide whether or not you should opt for a regular attack, Agile style or Strong style.

Twitter user Anubis has figured out a way to essentially cheat turn order and loop Ice Shard, not allowing the opposing Pokemon to have a turn to attack.

Menu Not Available During Eternal Battle Reverie

Once you start Eternal Battle Reverie, you will not be able to access your phone, which means that during the challenge you will be unable to save the game.

If you want to quit the challenge, simply talk to Arceus to end the session.

List of Pokemon Per Battle Category

The following tables lists the Pokemon that you may encounter during Eternal Battle Reverie. A random Pokemon will be chosen from the list, unless the table states that it is a Double or Triple Battle.

The amount of points that each challenge will yield depends on how high your win streak has gone.

We will add more Pokemon in the list as we continue taking on the Eternal Battle Reverie challenge. If you encounter a Pokemon that is not in the list, feel free to post a comment below!
