Sneasel's Path of Solitude Walkthrough

Mission Objectives

Steps to proceed through Sneasel's Path of Solitude
1 Speak to Gared at the Training Grounds
2 Talk to Ingo at the Training Grounds with only a Sneasel in your party and select Path of Solitude.
3 Defeat Ingo's Level 70 Gligar with your Sneasel.
4 Report back to Gared to complete the request.

Get a Non-Hisuian Sneasel from Space Time Distortions

Space-Time Distortions

Though it is possible to complete this request using a Hisuian Sneasel, it is much easier to beat Gligar with a non-Hisuian Sneasel since it can inflict 4x super effective Ice-type moves on Gligar and it is not weak against Aerial Ace.

As the request description suggests, you can get a non-Hisuian Sneasel from Space-Time Distortions, but in the Daybreak update, you can also find them on rare occasions as part of Massive Mass Outbreaks in Coronet Highlands.

Recommended Sneasel Nature and Moveset

PLA Sneasel Path of Solitude Request
Nature Adamant (↑ Attack ↓ Special Attack)
Impish (↑ Defense ↓ Special Attack)
Level Lv. 60 or higher
Moveset Ice Shard
Ice Punch

Since Sneasel does not have the best Special Attack stat, it is best to make use of its much higher base Attack by using moves like Ice Shard and Ice Punch. Natures that decrease its Special Attack are also best since it will not make use of that stat in battle.

If you are attempting this challenge at lower levels, you can also increase the Effort Values of Sneasel's Defense and HP to help it withstand Gligar's attacks.

Use Ice Shard in Agile Style and Ice Punch Twice

PLA Sneasel vs Gligar Path of Solitude
How to Beat Gligar
1 Hit Gligar once with Ice Shard in Agile Style
2 Withstand an Aerial Ace from Gligar
2 Use Ice Punch twice to finish it off

Ice Shard is a move that increases Sneasel's action speed. By using it in Agile Style on your first turn, you are given two consecutive turns after Gligar attacks. After Gligar uses Aerial Ace, use Ice Punch on your two consective turns. The second Ice Punch should take out Gligar and grant you the win.
