Another of Arceus' basic attacks is a laser that shoots towards the player. This attack can easily be timed at a short distance, but be careful at longer distances.

Be Prepared for Arceus to Switch Types

Arceus Clones

While in battle with another Pokemon, Arceus will have the ability to use plates and change its own type to have an advantage over its opponent. In addition, Arceus will also have the move Judgment which will match Arceus' current type.

To counter Arceus, make sure to bring a Pokemon with few type weaknesses. Some great options are Hisuian Zoroark, which is only weak to one type, or Dialga, which has only 2 weaknesses but several resistances.

Throw Balms between Meteors and Shockwaves

Arceus Clones

The best time to throw the Mysterious Balms is right between Arceus' basic attacks. Once you've dodged the shockwave, head away from the incoming meteors while focusing and throwing the balm at Arceus. You should be able to throw 2 in the time it takes before the meteor hits and the next shockwave begins.

Since the meteors hit specific spots on the ground, you can easily dodge out of the way before it hits.

Focus on Avoiding the Lasers

Arceus Clones

The lasers come in rapid succession and because of the difficulty in timing each shot from further distances, it's recommended to focus on avoidance and taking a pause from throwing Mysterious Balms.

Use the Area Attacks to Stun Arceus

Arceus Clones
As Arceus does their area atacks, they will not move nor hit you directly. When you see the purple or light blue balls around them, throw 4 Mysterious Balms at Arceus to cancel their attack.

Attacking Arceus like this will trigger a Pokemon Battle.
