Kleavor's Path of Solitude Walkthrough

Mission Objectives

Steps to proceed through Kleavor's Path of Solitude
1 Speak to Gared at the Training Grounds
2 Talk to Ingo at the Training Grounds with only a Kleavor in your party and select Path of Solitude
3 Defeat Ingo's Level 84 Hisuian Goodra with your Kleavor
4 Return to Gared to complete the request

Hisuian Goodra resists both of Kleavor's STAB moves, but like the Request description implies, the way to defeat it is by exploiting its weakness. Kleavor can fortunately learn the FIghting-type move Close Combat which Hisuian Goodra is weak to.

Hisuian Goodra's high defense means that a Strong Style Close Combat may not knock it out in one turn, so it's important to use an Attack-raising nature and max out its Effort Values in Attack and Speed to 10.

How to Beat Hisuian Goodra
1 Use Calm Mind at the start of the battle
Hisuian Goodra has a high chance of using Shelter at the start of the battle
2 Wait for Shelter's smoke screen to end and bide your turn by using Calm Mind, Focus Energy, or Swords Dance
3 Use Strong Style Close Combat to defeat Hisuian Goodra

Hisuian Goodra will almost always start the battle with Shelter, which raises its Defense by 1 stage and makes it less likely to hit with an attack when the move is in effect. Use this opportunity to use Calm Mind to raise Kleavor's offense and defense by 1 stage.

On the second turn, Hisuian Goodra's Shelter will still obscure and will start attacking, so withstand the attack and use either Calm Mind, Swords Dance, or Focus Energy to further boost its offenses.

Once Shelter wears off, use a Strong Style Close Combat to deal defeat Hisuian Goodra. With enough boosts or a lucky critical hit, Hisuian Goodra will go down to a well-placed Strong Style Close Combat.
