Certain Wild Pokemon may drop Training Items when you capture them or defeat them in a battle, although the chances of it dropping the items are low.
Defeating or capturing Alpha Pokemon gives you certain Training Items as a reward. If you want to farm for more Exp. Candies, you can battle with low-level Alpha Pokemon to obtain them easily.
