How to Use Wing Balls
Throw the Wing Ball at Pokemon That are Normally Out of Range
The Wing Ball allows you to capture distant Pokemon that the regular Poke Balls can't reach. This is especially helpful against high-flying Pokemon and when trying to catch Pokemon from a good vantage point. Its long range makes it difficult to aim so aim for where the Pokemon is headed, and aim slightly lower than the reticle to make hitting the Pokemon easier.
Catching a Pokemon in Battle
To initiate a battle with a wild Pokemon, throw a Poke Ball containing your partner Pokemon towards it. Aim at an unsuspecting Pokemon's backside to potentially gain the advantage and catch them off guard!
Like in past Pokemon games, Pokemon will become easier to catch after being weakened. Lower their HP and inflict Status conditions like Drowsiness or Paralysis, then switch to your items with X, and press ZR to throw the Wing Ball to try and catch it!
