The new mainline series game Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set to release worldwide on January 28, 2022.
Adventure into the new Hisui Region, where you'll get to witness the early beginnings of the relationship between humans and Pokemon, discover new Pokemon, and uncover the stories behind the Pokemon world's most iconic legends!
Pokemon Legends Arceus had a midnight local release, just like previous Pokemon games.

Release Time Details and Countdown
You can now preorder your copy of Pokemon Legends: Arceus! You can preorder by heading to the Nintendo Eshop or from selected retailers, such as Amazon or Best Buy. Some retails will even have unique preorder bonuses only available at their store.
How to Preorder and All Preorder Bonuses
The January 28 release date was first announced on Twitter and was first shown in a trailer on August 18 as part of Pokemon Presents.

The preorder bonuses are different for the physical version and digital version. When you preorder Pokemon Legends: Arceus from Pokemon Center, you’ll receive a bonus gift of an Arceus Sitting Cuties Plush!
Purchasing the digital version of the game before May 9, 2022 (4:59 PM PT) will give you a code to obtain 30 Heavy Balls in-game.
How to Preorder and All Preorder Bonuses
The digital version requires at least 6.0 GB of free space in order to download the game's data to the Switch.
If you do not have enough space, you can erase other game data or purchase a microSD to free up space. Keep in mind that any future patches will require more space.
With the exception of Pokemon Gold and Silver, no other Pokemon games has ever had a delayed release date.
Since Pokemon Legends Arceus was announced as part of Pokemon's 25th anniversary, it is unlikely that the game will be delayed.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus lets you embark on a new Action-RPG adventure set in the Hisui Region. Players will encounter new and old Pokemon but in more open and exciting new environments! The game takes inspiration from other game franchises, such as Breath of the Wild and Monster Hunter Rise.
Game Genre: Is It an Open World?
Your goal as the player character is to build the first Pokedex in the Hisui Region. Study the wild Pokemon in the area, sneak up on them, and catch them with a well-aimed Pokeball!
New Pokemon and Regional Variants
Much like in the previous Pokemon games, battling with Pokemon is possible in Pokemon Legends: Arceus! Toss a Poke Ball containing your ally Pokemon to seamlessly enter a battle with a wild Pokemon.
Battle System: Is Battle Turn-Based?
Compared to other games in the franchise, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is unique since it lets the player freely explore the environment and catch Pokemon without entering into battle. There are also quests and missions to complete, and new goals to acheieve.
All Gameplay Features and Everything We Know
Unlike previous Pokemon games, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is not set in the modern era, and is instead set in the distant past of the Pokemon world. The time period is likely based on the Meiji era of Japan at around the late 1800s.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch and will not likely be made available on other platforms or consoles. However, with Pokemon HOME support, you can send your Pokemon to your mobile device and transfer them to other Pokemon games.
