Commander Kamado is the harsh but trustworthy leader of the Galaxy Expedition Team and the one who oversees the operations of the organization. He dons traditional Japanese clothing designed with waves and a Golduck.

As the leader of the Galaxy Expedition Team, Commander Kamado will send you out to different survey missions to study Hisui and the Pokemon that inhabit the region.
As seen in the trailers, he encourages your character to do their best in carrying out their task but also to be careful as he deems Pokemon as terrifying creatures.

Welcoming the New Survey Corps Member
You'll first meet Commander Kamado on the third floor of the headquarters after being accepted as part of the Galaxy Team. From this point onward, he will be the one to assign you tasks involving the Frenzied Nobles and rift at the summit of Mount Coronet.

Commander Kamado has been confirmed as the ancestor of Professor Rowan from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
While Commander Kamado is a leader to the Galaxy Expedition Team, Professor Rowan is the regional professor of the modern-day Sinnoh region.
Aside from seemingly grooming their mustache in the same manner, both are stern but respected and deeply trusted leaders of their fields.
