During Azelf's trial in The Trial of Lake Valor Mission, you will encounter an Alpha Overqwil
While you may encounter an Alpha Overqwil randomly during a Hisuian Qwilfish mass outbreak, this particular Alpha Overqwil is a sure encounter since it's tied to a Mission.
However, if you defeat it, you will lose your chance of catching the Alpha Pokemon and will have to rely on chance encounters instead, or by evolving an Alpha Hisuian Qwilfish.
Be sure to save beforehand should you take the Alpha Overqwil down and fail to catch it!
The Trial of Lake Valor Walkthrough: How to Hit Azelf with Balms
During the Mission The Trial of Lake Acuity, you will be facing an Alpha Hisuian Zoroark. You are able to catch it once you start the encounter, so make sure to save before approaching it in case you knock it out accidentally.
Like the Alpha Overqwil in The Trial of Lake Valor, failing to catch this sure encounter of the Alpha Hisuian Zoroark will have you resorting to chance encounters during mass outbreaks or through evolution of an Alpha Hisuian Zorua.

The first thing you will select in the game is your choice of language. This option cannot be changed any time during gameplay, so be sure to choose a language you are fully comfortable with.
At the start of the game, you'll choose your main character's face, gender, and skin, none of which can be changed at any point during the game. However, your character's hair and eye color, as well as their clothing can be changed at the Clothier and Hairdresser in Jubilife Village.

The main character's name cannot be changed. You'll be called by your name frequently throughout the story, and it will be registered as the Player Name for all of your Pokemon, so be sure to choose a name you will be satisfied with.

At the beginning of the game, you'll choose your first Pokemon, often known as a Starter Pokemon. The two Pokemon you did not choose will be obtainable for free at the end of the story, but the choice of Starter Pokemon which you will use for the majority of the story cannot be changed, so choose carefully.
Best Starter Pokemon: Which Starter Should You Choose?
There is no option to replay cutscenes or story events from the game, so players will need to start a new file to experience these again. There's no skip button for cutscenes, so there's no worry about accidentally skipping past an important moment, but be sure to pay attention if you want to truly experience the story.
Major trainer battles in the story are also impossible to repeat, as well as the final boss battle. However, the Frenzied Nobles can each be re-battled by returning to the spot where you originally fought them and talking with their Warden.
The choice the player makes between the character Adaman and Irida will change the ordering of events and the appearance of the final boss. Although the real effect on gameplay is minimal, and the final boss battle itself is identical either way, players will only be able to experience the story one way, so make the choice which suits the way you want events to play out.

Should You Choose Adaman or Irida? Diamond or Pearl Clan Choice
Certain Pokemon can only be obtained once in the game. For example, there is only a single Alolan Vulpix available. Be sure that you don't accidentally release or unintentionally trade away these Pokemon, as you won't be able to get them back once they are gone.
Also, if you want to get a good Nature for these Pokemon, be sure to save your game before obtaining them, as you won't be able to catch a different one after to try to get a better Nature.
