Who is Adaman?

Leader of the Diamond Clan

According to his official description, Adaman serves as the leader of the Diamond Clan and has Leafeon as his partner Pokémon.

This daring young man hates seeing time go to waste and likes to rush forward without worrying too much about particulars. This way of thinking puts him at odds with Irida, who leads the Pearl Clan, so the two are frequently seen fighting.

Should You Choose Adaman?

Legends Arceus choosing between Adaman and Irida

At the end of the mission Disaster Looming, you'll have to choose between Adaman and Irida to accompany you in the Lake Trials. Your choice will only affect the order of the Legendary Pokemon you'll fight near the end of the story so you can choose the character you like more.

Regardless of who you choose, you will still get both Dialga and Palkia before the main story ends.

Should You Choose Adaman or Irida? Diamond or Pearl Clan Choice

You will obtain Dialga early

Legends Arceus - Dialga

If you choose Adaman, you will fight Dialga in a Pokemon battle during the mission Atop Mount Coronet. You need to capture Dialga before the story can advance, so don't worry about accidentally taking it out—the battle will restart if you do.

Palkia will be in the Origin Ball

Legends Arceus - Origin Ball

Additionally, you will face Palkia in the next mission, The Counterpart, if you choose Adaman. Unlike the first battle against Dialga, you'll fight Palkia in a boss battle similar to the Frenzied Nobles.

The boss fight will conclude in Palkia being captured using the Origin Ball, a unique type of Pokeball.

If you don't mind Palkia being inside this special Pokeball, choose Adaman. But if you like Dialga more, we recommend choosing Irida instead.
