B Dash

Dash When Moving Straight

PLA Balloon Race Dash

Given that you only have 40 seconds to burst 30 balloons, you should be moving from one balloon to the next real fast.

In order to do so, dash by holding down B when you're moving straight. It is not recommended to dash when making hard turns since it gets more difficult to turn when you're moving quickly which might cause you to miss some balloons.

Identify Balloon Movement

Stationary Balloons

PLA Balloon Race Stationary
Stationary balloons are the easiest to identify and to burst. Since these balloons don't move, hold down B once you've locked to its position to charge into the balloons swiftly.

Horizontal Moving Balloons

PLA Balloon Race Movement
There are some balloons that move from side to side in the field. Try to anticipate the balloon's movement and move towards where it's about to go.

In this case, dashing is not recommended as bursting these moving balloons involve turning.

Vertical Moving Balloons

PLA Balloon Race Vertical
Lastly, there are balloons that move up and down in the field. The best way to burst these balloons is to jump towards the balloon by pressing the Y button.

It is recommended to jump when the balloons are already descending to make sure it is always within your jump range.
