Any chance it can be shiny?
With this quest you have to do it durning nightfall because I had the same problem I have two too. It works during nightfall bc it says it in the quest
That happened to me as well. I evolved the chimchar before handing over the quest and when i got back to her with another chimchar it doesn't recognise it.
I found a bug, it seems like if you catch another chimchar after you catch the one in the tree. The request doesn’t recognize neither original nor the new chimchars.
