Mimic Tear Ashes can be obtained in Nokron, Eternal City, which you can travel to after defeating Starscourge Radahn. Fast travel to Ancestral Woods, then jump on the building ledge beside it. After jumping from building to building and following the path, you'll soon enter inside a building after crossing a bridge.
Climb up the stairs leading up, and you should see a corridor with a fog gate blocking the way ahead. You will need to use 2x Stonesword Keys to access the chest, which contains the Mimic Tear ashes behind the barrier.
The Mimic Tear Ash is the most versatile Spirit Ash in the game. Since it uses the same armor, talismans, and weapons as your character, you can customize it according to your current needs.
While it's not as aggressive as ashes like Banished Knight Oleg and Black Knife Tiche, it's incredibly tanky when fully upgraded and can even survive attacks that will instantly kill your character!
Make sure to remove any uncessary equipment before summoning the Mimic Tear Ash such as torches or secondary weapons and instead only equip your main weapon.
This prevents the Mimic Tear from constantly cycling through its equipped weapons, which often leaves it open to attacks.
Like all summons, the Mimic Tear has infinite FP which makes it a great spellcasting summon since you can set what kind of Incantations or Sorceries it uses.
Take advantage of its unlimited FP and set only the strongest Incantations and Sorceries.
While it's tempting to equip the Mimic Tear with all the spells you know, it's best to only equip a maximum of three spells for it to use as setting too many spells causes the Spirit Ash to constantly cycle between them and leave it open to attacks.
You can make the Mimic Tear the focus of the boss' attacks by equipping it with the Shabriri's Woe Talisman and then unequipping your talisman once it's summoned.
This strategy is very useful against powerful bosses such as Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, Dragonlord Placidusax, as well as Radagon of the Golden Order and the Elden Beast as the they will focus all of its attacks on the Mimic Tear and let you safely attack them without grabbing aggro.
