Lunar Awakening Start Date and Features

The Lunar Awakening event is a new Diablo 4 (D4) LTM launching on February 6, 2024 to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Read on to learn more about the Lunar Awakening LTM including its start and end dates, features, and rewards.

Lunar Awakening Start and End Dates

Runs from February 6 to February 20

The newly announced Lunar Awakening event for Diablo 4 will run from February 6, 2024 (10 AM PST) to February 20, 2024 (10 AM PST). This gives players 15 days to participate in the event and collect all the rewards it offers, in-game.

Available in Seasonal and Eternal Realms

The Lunar Awakening will be available in both the Seasonal and Eternal Realms of Diablo 4. Non-seasonal characters will still be able to participate and farm up the cosmetic rewards without having to create a new character in Season 3.

Event Starts in Ked-Bardu

To participate in the event, players will need to travel to Ked-Bardu in the Dry Steppes region and make their way to the Lunar Night Market. From there, speak to an NPC named Ying-Yue to begin the event.

Lunar Awakening Event Features

Lunar Shrines Buff Existing Shrines

To celebrate the Lunar Awakening event, Lunar Shrines will start spawning all across Sanctuary. Activating them will grant you 50% bonus XP (multiplicative) as well as 30% increased movement speed. These shrines are modified versions of existing shrines:

• Artillery Shrine: Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
• Blast Wave Shrine: Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
• Channeling Shrine: Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
• Conduit Shrine: Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
• Greed Shrine: Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, 25 kills summons a Treasure Goblin, and 50 kills summons a second.
• Lethal Shrine: Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: this includes Elites, but excludes Bosses and other Players.
• Protection Shrine: You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.

When buffed by shrines, you gain Ancestor's Favor reputation which counts towards the Lunar Awakening Limited-Time Mode (LTM) reward track.

Ancestor's Favor Affix for NMDs

Nightmare Dungeons will also get a buff during Lunar Awakening, giving Nightmare Sigils a chance to spawn with the Ancestor's Favor affix which increases shrine spawn rates inside the NMD and turns all of them into Lunar Shrines.

Any Nightmare Dungeon affected by Ancestor's Favor will also grant players 10% more Glyph XP once they complete the dungeon (certainly a game changer at higher NMD tiers).

Lunar Awakening Shop Bundles

To celebrate the Lunar Awakening event, new shop bundles will be available at the in-game store for the duration of the event. Pick up Lunar New Year themed cosmetics for each of the 5 different classes in Diablo 4, as well as a new event-themed mount armor.

Lunar Awakening Rewards

Free Cosmetic Reward Track

Similar to the Midwinter Blight event, Lunar Awakening will have its own currency exchange for event cosmetics. Head on over to the Lunar Night Market in Ked Bardu and trade Ancestor's Favor reputation to claim event-themed rewards for your character.
