Steps to proceed through Stark Mountain | |
---|---|
1 | Climb the stairs to reach the wild area at the top. |
2 | Go west and enter the mountain. |
3 | Destroy the rock using Rock Smash to pass through. Then, move the boulder to the east and down the stairs. |
4 | Go east and move the boulders to pass through. To clear the pathway, move the top and bottom boulder to the east. Then, push the middle boulder to the north. |
5 | Make your way up to reach the doorway at the top. You'll encounter your rival here. Enter the doorway after the conversation. |
6 | At the end of the path, you'll encounter Buck, and he will ask you to team up. Travel with Buck and go east. When you are with Buck you will be unable to use Climb. Pokemon inside the Stark Mountain are also quite strong. But don't worry, he will heal your Pokemon after every battle. |
7 | After passing through the big rocks, enter the small path to the north. Then, destroy the rock to pass through. |
8 | Keep going north until you reach the second stairs on the left. Go down and walk north. |
9 | After passing through the two rocks, enter the path to the west. Then, destroy the rock blocking your way. |
10 | Keep heading west until you reach the stairs. Climb up and defeat the trainers. |
11 | Go northwest and down the stairs on the east. |
12 | Move the boulder to the east until you reach the end of the path. Then, climb up and enter the cave. |
13 | After your conversation with Buck, use the Escape Rope to exit the Stark Mountain quickly. Then, travel to Survival Area and enter the house on the left side of Pokemon Center. Talk to Buck and his grandfather. |
14 | Travel back here, and enter the location where you found the Magma Stone. Inside this area, you'll encounter Legendary Pokemon Heatran. |
15 | Travel to Route 228. |
Ultra Ball and Dusk Ball are effective in catching Legendary Pokemon Heatran. Buy lots of it before visiting its den.
During the battle, carefully weaken Heatran using a move with low Power or use a move that will put it to sleep. Then, keep on throwing your Ultra Ball until you successfully catch it. You can also use your Master Ball if you have not consumed it on Legendary Pokemon Dialga or Palkia.
Pokemon | Lv. | Type | Known Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Heatran | 70 | ・Metal Sound ・Earth Power ・Heat Wave ・Stone Edge |
Note: You will only encounter Legendary Pokemon Heatran once. Make sure to save the game before interacting with Heatran so you'll be able to restart the scene when you end up defeating it.

Hey the Map is wrong. Here’s a correction. There’s supposed to be a rock slope kind of center ish top.
