Eterna Forest Tips & Strategies

Cheryl Heals Your Pokemon

While you're partnered with Cheryl, she will completely heal your Pokemon at the end of each battle! Save your potions and Antidotes for later battles!

Cheryl Character Profile

Catch a Murkrow

You can catch a Murkrow in Eterna Forest. Murkrow evolves into the powerful Honchkrow by exposing it to the Dusk Stone. A Dusk Stone can be found inside Team Galactic's headquarters in Veilstone City.

Honchkrow is a strong Flying-type Pokemon to add to your party if you didn't have one yet.

A Great Place for Training Pokemon

Eterna Forest is one of the earliest grind spots to level and train your Pokemon since Cheryl completely restores your party's health at the end of each battle.

Consider training your Pokemon to Lvl. 22 here so that you're ready to face Gardenia in the next Gym!

Use Multi-Target Moves

Since all battles in Eterna Forest are Double Battles, it's a good idea to use multi-target moves. These target both opposing Pokemon and allows you to potentially KO two opponents in a single turn.

A good example of a multi-target move is Bubble, which Piplup learns fairly early.

Visit the Old Chateau

You can visit the Old Chateau located near the exit of Eterna Forest. You can encounter and catch a Gastly inside the Old Chataeu.

As part of the post-game, you can encounter a Rotom that is living inside a television in one of the rooms. There is only one Rotom available you can only battle it at night, so make sure to catch it since you will only get one chance to do so.

Note: Accessing the Old Chateau requires the HM Cut which you can use only outside of battle after beating Gardenia and the Eterna City Gym.

Evolve Eevee into Leafeon

Moss Rock Pokemon BDSP
Eevee evolves into Leafeon when leveled up near the Moss Rock located in the western part of Eterna Forest. It is one of the new Eeveelutions introduced in Gen IV alongside Glaceon.

Note: You will have to go back to Eterna Forest since Eevee can only be caught or obtained after beating the Elite Four, Cynthia, and obtaining the National Dex.
