Obtainable Items

If you return to the Giratina Room of Turnback Cave after defeating or capturing Giratina, there is a chance you could find one of these items in its place.

Turnback Cave
Stardust Rare Bone Reaper Cloth

Get Stardust by Reaching Giratina's Room in 16-30 Rooms

BDSP - Stardust.pngStardust Lovely red sand that flows between the fingers with a loose, silky feel. It can be sold at a low price to shops.

After Giratina has been defeated or captured, you can find Stardust where he once was if it takes you 16-30 rooms to reach Giratina's Chamber. These Stardust will reappear every time, which you may then sell for money at shops.

Get Rare Bone by Reaching Giratina's Room in 4-15 Rooms

BDSP - Rare Bone.pngRare Bone A rare bone that is extremely valuable for the study of Pokemon archeology. It can be sold for high price to shops.

Similar to the Stardust you can find a Rare Bone where he once was if it takes you 4-15 rooms to reach Giratina's Chamber after Giratina has been defeated or captured. The Rare Bone will reappear every time, which you may then sell for money at shops.

Get Reaper Cloth by Reaching Giratina's Room in Exactly 3 Rooms

BDSP - Reaper Cloth.pngReaper Cloth A cloth imbued with horrifyingly strong spiritual energy. Causes Dusclops to evolve if traded while holding.

The rarest of the three items to find is the Reaper Cloth. This item requires you to get to Giratina's Chamber in exactly 3 rooms.

This might seem like it requires a lot of luck to achieve since the rooms are completely random. However, you may save and soft-reset at every room to make sure that every room you enter is a pillar room.

Turnback Cave Walkthrough

Turnback Cave Objectives

Steps to proceed through Turnback Cave
1 You'll have a chance to encounter and catch Legendary Pokemon Giratina inside this cave. To find Giratina's location, you need to find the three pillars while only checking less than 30 rooms.
It is foggy inside the cave, use Defog to clear the fog in the area.
2 Once you reach Legendary Pokemon Giratina's den, try to catch it using a Dusk Ball. Then, exit the cave once done.
You will be unable to use Escape Rope and Dig; go back to the door where you entered from earlier to reach the 1st room of the cave.
3 Travel to Snowpoint Temple, home of Regigas.
Fly to Snowpoint City and walk north to find the temple.

Catch Giratina in the Deepest Room of Turnback Cave

Shadow Force
Aura Sphere
Dragon Claw

Giratina is located in the room that comes after the 3rd pillar, however the layout of Turnback Cave is randomly generated, so it will take some RNG luck.

Note: You will only encounter Legendary Pokemon Giratina once. Make sure to save the game before interacting with Giratina so you'll be able to restart the scene when you end up defeating it.

How to Get Giratina

Turnback Cave Puzzle Solution

Unfortunately, there is no fixed pattern in finding the pillars; all rooms are randomized. We advise to look at the pattern of the rocks in the ground and never go back the way you came in. You can also monitor how many rooms you have already gone through by interacting with the pillars. The number above is the pillars you have found, and the number below is the rooms you have visited.

If you wish to exit the cave before finding Giratina, you can go through the door you previously entered. This will take you back to the Turnback Cave entrance.
