Use Stickers in Ball Capsules to customize your Poke Ball and add effects for battle and contest shows. Read on to learn about what stickers do and how to get stickers in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP)!
List of Contents
With the Ball Capsule option in the menu, you can customize your Ball Capsules by adding Stickers onto them. Your Pokemon's Poke Balls are then placed inside these Ball Capsules.
There are over 90 stickers to be collected in-game and you can apply up to 20 stickers onto a Pokeball.
2D layout |
3D layout |
You can place stickers on your Pokeball capsule using a 2D or 3D layout. The 2D layout is faster but less specific, since it uses a grid that snaps a sticker to a position. The 3D layout allows you to precisely position your stickers to your liking.
Once you've laid out stickers on Ball Capsules, you can check how they will look like in-battle by pressing + on your controller. While in the preview screen, you can pause the animation with the A button to check if you've place your Stickers in your preferred spot!
The choice of sticker design determines the effect that appears when your Pokemon exits its Poke Ball for battle or a a Super Contest Show. The effect of the sticker is denoted in the sticker's title (e.g. Heart, Fire, Song, Electricity, etc.).
Stickers placed on your Pokeball will affect the scoring of your Pokemon during the Visual Evaluation segment of Super Contest Shows.
Visual evaluation from the original games scored Accessories placed on the Pokemon based on if they match the theme given at the start of the round.

Defeating Gym Leaders also rewards you with the Stickers that they use in battle. The Stickers you receive will match the type that they are using!
You can view which Stickers Gym Leaders use at the second floor of the Jubilife TV building in Jubilife City. You can preview their setups when you defeat them and acquire their Badges!
You can also get stickers by winning Super Contest Shows. The Stickers you will get will be based on the Contest Category (Coolness, Beauty, Cleverness, Cuteness, and Toughness) that you competed in.
Numerous NPCs in the game will gift you Stickers that you can use in decorating.
As of Ver 1.2.0, trainers can now view your Capsule Decorations in the Union Room. You and another Trainer can now copy each other's Capsule Decorations. Your first Capsule Decoration will be viewable, while the other Trainer's Capsule Decoration will automatically be copied to your list.
If you don't have all the same stickers when you make the copy, you can do it with the stickers you already own.
