Path to Route 225 Closed Without National Dex
You'll need to get the National Dex from Professor Oak first before you can access Route 225. Do this by completing your Sinnoh Dex and travelling to Sandgem Town to get your National Dex.
How to Unlock the National Dex

Get the Super Rod
Once you have completed your Sinnoh Dex, head to the Fight Area and talk to the fisherman standing near the gate to Route 225 to get the Super Rod.

| Steps to proceed through Fight Area | |

| 1 | Go to the southern part of Snowpoint City and ride a ferry to reach the Fight Area. Go inside the Poke Mart and talk to the old lady to get Scope Lens. |
| 2 | Your rival will approach you together with Buck and introduce you the Battle Tower. Visit the Battle Tower. To reach the Battle Tower, enter the gate to the Battle Park. You can find the gate in the northeast part of the Fight Area. |
Fight Area Tips and Strategies
Weekend Rival Battles
The weekend battle is only accessible during weekends. However, you don't need to wait for weekends; change the system date of your Nintendo Switch through settings, and it will reflect on the game as well. To participate in the weekend battle, visit the Fight Area and travel northeast. You'll find your rival waiting for you outside the gate.

Conquer the Battle Tower
If you're looking for an extra challenge, head to the Battle Park in the northeast area of the Fight Area. Here, you'll have the chance to conquer the Battle Tower.
Explore Other Routes After Getting the National Dex
Getting the National Dex will grant you access to areas beyond the Fight Area like Stark Mountain, Survival Area, and Resort Area. These areas are home to the Ribbon Syndicate and the legendary Pokemon Heatran so don't miss out on these!
