How to Use Waterfall

Press the A Button Towards the Waterfall

Pokemon BDSP Climb up Waterfalls

You can use Waterfall by pressing the A button towards the waterfall. After activating the hidden move, you can start climbing waterfalls to reach new areas.

Note that you do not need to press the A button to descend down the waterfall if you move towards it from above.

Defeat Volkner to Use Waterfall as a Hidden Move

Pokemon BDSP - Defeat Volkner to Use Waterfall as a Hidden Move
You cannot use Waterfall as a Hidden Move unless you have defeated Volkner, the gym leader at Sunyshore City. Even though he specializes in Electric-type Pokemon, he has Ambipom and Octillery in his team. Having a Garchomp on your team would be great as it is a strong Ground-type Pokemon overall.

After defeating him, you can use Waterfall to go to areas you can't access before.

Use Poketch and Switch to the Hidden Moves Screen

Pokemon BDSP - Poketch Press the Red Button to Switch Apps
You can also use Waterfall as a hidden move from the Poketch app. If the Poketch app does not appear in the upper right corner of the screen, press the R button twice. If a small screen is displayed, press the R button once to enlarge it.

Once the Poketch app is displayed, press the red button to switch to the Hidden Moves screen and select Waterfall from the menu.

It is recommended to simply press the A button towards the waterfall as it is faster to do so.
