Getting the 6th Badge: Walkthrough Part 6

This guide shows the objectives list for obtaining the 6th Badge in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP). Read on to know how to proceed through each area, learn which Pokemon the Gym Leader has, as well as other helpful walkthrough information.

Things to Do Before Getting the 6th Badge

Get Riolu Egg from Iron Island

Riolu

In the southwest side of Canalave City, you can talk to Sailor Eldritch at the dock to take you to Iron Island. Once in Iron Island, enter the cave and descend further down levels until you encounter Riley. He will team up with you to escape the island while keeping your Pokemon healthy.

Near the exit, you will have to battle against two Team Galactic Members. After you beat them, Riley will reward you with a Riolu Egg for helping him out. Riolu evolves into Lucario, which could be a valuable member to your team especially in the 6th and &th Gym Battle.

While in Iron Island, you could also pick up several items including a TM for Iron Tail and a Shiny Stone.

Hearthome	Route 218	Canalave City

Hearthome City

1	Upon exiting the Pokemon Gym, you'll encounter Cynthia. After the conversation, travel to Canalave City. The fastest way to reach Canalave City is by flying to Jubilife City. From there, travel west and pass through Route 218.

2	Use Surf to travel over the lake and head west. You won't be able to pass through this route without Surf.
3	Head west and you'll find the gate leading to the city. Pass through the building to reach Canalave City. You'll encounter Prof. Rowan's assistant inside the building.

4	Travel north and cross the bridge in the middle. Your rival will approach you, and this will trigger a Rival Battle.
5	Travel southwest, and visit the Canalave City Pokemon Gym. Defeat the trainers along the way, and solve the Gym Puzzle to reach Gym Leader Byron's location. ▶︎ How to Beat Byron

Canalave City Gym Puzzle Solution

How to Solve the Gym Puzzle
1	Travel north, and defeat the trainer. Then, go east.
2	Take the last platform on the east. It will take you to the 2nd floor.
3	Go south, and step on the platform at the end. Defeat the trainer, and take the platform next to him.
4	Take the platform on the west to reach the other side. Then, use the next platform to reach the 3rd floor.
5	Use the platform on the north to get across. Keep moving north until you reach the trainer at the end.
6	Go east until you reach a Karate Guy. Then, enter the small path to reach the platform on the south.
7	Take the platform on the right. When you reach the other side, ride the platform.
8	Defeat the trainer, and take the platform behind the red beam to reach the 1st floor.
9	Once you reached the 1st floor, walk west and take the platform with the red design. This will transport you to Byron.

Get Skill Swap (TM48)

Enter the first house when you arrive at Canalave City. Talk to the woman on the right to receive TMs for Skill Swap.

Visit the Move Deleter

The Move Deleter allows you to forget and remove one of your Pokemon's current moves. You can find him inside the house behind the Poke Mart.

Get U-turn (TM89)

You can find a TM for U-turn by heading to the dock and surfing south through the canal. The TM is partially hidden behind some trees so it may be difficult to spot.
