All Honey Tree Pokemon

When slathering Honey on a tree, the game will choose between 2 groups of different encounter rates. Group 1 is more commonly chosen and Silcoon or Cascoon (depending on your version) only appear in this group. Group 2 is more rare but Heracross only appears in this group.

Slathering the same tree without slathering a different Honey Tree since will lead the game to choose the same group that you last encountered at the tree. Use this to help you encounter Heracross in the rare Group 2 more frequently.

How to Get Honey

Purchase at Floaroma Meadow

Honey Man.png
The most efficient way for repeatedly getting Honey is by purchasing it from it the man at the entrance of Floaroma Meadow. Each Honey is worth 100 each, but you can also purchase 10 jars of Honey which will cost 1,000.

There are a total of 21 Honey Trees in the game, so buying two bundles of 10 plus an extra honey a day will allow you to slather all the Honey Trees in Sinnoh!

Honey Gather Ability

Combee's ability is Honey Gather, which allows it to randomly obtain Honey after battle, if it's not holding an item. This is another way to obtain Honey repeatedly and it's free.

How to Use Honey

Slather Golden Trees

Pokemon BDSP Slather Honey Tree

Press A when facing the gold-colored Honey Trees and the game will tell you "There is a sweet scent in the air..." If you have Honey in your inventory, you will then be prompted to slather Honey on the tree.

Check the Map for Honey Tree Status

Honey Tree with Honey

Open the Town Map via the Menu, then press + to bring up Locations Info, which will show all Honey Trees you've encountered.

Press L and R to scroll between showing trees that have not been slathered with Honey (colored white), trees that have been slathered (colored gold), and Honey Trees that have Pokemon in them (with shiny sparkles).

You can use this map to check if you've missed any trees on your Honey slathering route listed above.

Return After 6 Hours

Pokemon BDSP Honey Tree

After a minimum of 6 hours has passed in real-time, return to the Honey Tree and it may be rustling, indicating a Pokemon's in the tree. Press A when facing the Honey Tree and you will trigger a battle with the Pokemon in the tree, for a chance at capturing it.

If 6 hours have passed and the Honey Tree isn't rustling, then the Honey has failed and you will need to slather the tree with Honey again and wait another 6 hours.

Pokemon leave tree after 24 hours

If 24 hours have passed since you slathered the tree with Honey and you have not returned to the tree to battle the Pokemon, then the Pokemon will leave and you will need to slather the tree with Honey again and wait another 6 hours.

Use to Catch Rare Pokemon

Pokemon BDSP Honey Combee

Some of the Pokemon encountered via Honey Trees can only be encountered through this method. Given that the encounter rate for each Honey Tree Pokemon is not 100%, it may be tedious to wait 6 hours for a Pokemon that isn't guaranteed to appear.

However, with the game's 21 total Honey Trees that you can likely slather 2-3 times a day, that's up to 63 Pokemon you can encounter daily. If you consistently slather all trees 3 times a day, you significantly increase the likelihood of encountering the Pokemon you want within the first week of Honey Pokemon hunting.
