Poison Heal consistently heals 1/8 of Gliscor's HP each turn if it is severely poisoned. Alternating between Substitute and Protect ensures that Gliscor takes minimal damage, allowing Gliscor to outlast opponents and possibly win via time out.
Gliscor's decent defenses coupled with the combination of Substitute and Protect can leave Gliscor healthy enough to fish for knock outs with Guillotine; a 30% accurate move that can one-shot an opposing Pokemon.

Nature / EVs | Jolly 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe | ||||
Final Stats | 151 HP / 147 Atk / 145 Def / 95 SpD / 161 Spe |
Gliscor's access to both Earthquake and Ice Fang make it a force to be reckoned with. It is also resistant to status conditions thanks to its Poison Heal Ability, because it cannot be affected by other status conditions once it is poisoned. Using Protect on turn 1 to scout for a Will-O-Wisp or Spore is a strong opening play. This also lets you activate Gliscor's Toxic Orb.
Gliscor can immediately threaten Ice-weak Pokemon like Garchomp, while possibly walling it at the same time. Ice Fang is also an effective tool against other opposing Gliscor.
Running Hyper Cutter may be a decent option if your team composition is weak to Intimidate. Only consider Sand Veil if you have a reliable Sandstorm setter on your team.
Roost | Gliscor's reasonable bulk allows it to run Roost as a recovery option. |
---|---|
Facade | Because this Pokemon has a sizeable Attack stat, a boosted Facade is a good offensive move to consider. |
Taunt | Gliscor can shut down an opposing Pokemon that is trying to set up with Taunt. Use this on slower Pokemon trying to set up moves like Trick Room. |
Knock Off | Knock Off is a solid choice for disruption, however it may fail to get important knock outs even if boosted by Swords Dance. |
U-Turn | Being able to pivot out of the active spot while dealing damage is a valuable tool. |

Triggering its held Toxic Orb and its Poison Heal Ability with an early Protect is usually a good option. This Ability allows Gliscor to recover health while Poisoned, making it decently defensive.
If an opponent isn't immediately threatening Gliscor, setting up a Swords Dance is not a bad play. Its decent Speed and Defenses can be a big problem for your opponents if they have limited ways to hit Gliscor for supereffective damage.
Pokemon that are faster than Gliscor and hit it for weakness will make its life difficult. Weavile, Starmie, or Latios can hit Gliscor with a super-effective Ice-type move and can likely knock it out.
Pokemon | Description |

Cresselia | Ranking:★★★★ ・Is not afraid of Gliscor's offense and can threaten it with Ice Beam. |

Breloom can threaten Weavile and Starmie with Mach Punch and Bullet Seed respectively. This Pokemon can also threaten an opposing Wash Rotom or any other Water Pokemon that might give Gliscor trouble. Gliscor can also freely set up a Swords Dance in front of a sleeping Pokemon.

Wash Rotom can comfortably switch into Water-type or Ice-type moves that threaten Gliscor.
A Wash Rotom equipped with a Choice Scarf can outspeed and knock out an opposing Starmie.
This Pokemon can Volt Switch out of the active spot into Gliscor, while Gliscor can U-Turn into Wash Rotom.

Tyranitar can boost its own Special Defense with its Sand Stream Ability, as well as Gliscor's, improving both Pokemon's survivability. Gliscor with Sand Veil even gets added evasion, making opposing Pokemon's Hydro Pump attacks less reliable.
