The Underground Man is located in Eterna City and gives you tutorial missions on the Grand Underground. Read on for a guide on all Underground Man missions and their respective rewards in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP).

| 1 | To go Underground, simply use the Explorer Kit from the Key Items pocket of your Bag. |

| 2 |  Note that you need to be outdoors in order to use the Explorer Kit. You can't use it from inside a building or a cavern. |

Once you enter the Grand Underground, Roark will give you a brief introduction to its features. Afterward, press X to open the menu, then select Go Up to return to the surface. On the surface, speak to the Underground Man to claim your reward. |

| 1 |  In the Underground, look at the minimap for twinkling, yellow spots (♦). Head to the location with those spots, then touch the screen to ping the yellow spot's exact location. |

| 2 |  The pinged yellow spots may appear on the wall or floor. Stand in front of and face a yellow spot on the wall, then press A to start digging for treasure. |
| 3 |  Dig for treasure using the sledgehammer (for removing big chunks) or pickax (for refined digging). |
| 4 | After obtaining a treasure or sphere, head back up to the surface and speak to the Underground Man to claim the reward. |

How to Dig Up Treasure and Spheres
| 1 |  In the Underground, head to a location where you want to create your Secret Base. Face a wall in that location, then open the menu by pressing X. Select the Digger Drill in the Traps menu to create a small cavern. |

| 2 | The game will confirm with you if you want to finalize this location as your Secret Base. Selecting Yes will create the Secret Base and remove the Digger Drill from your inventory, while selecting No will remove the entrance and allow you to use the Digger Drill somewhere else. |
| 3 | After creating the Secret Base, head back up to the surface and speak to the Underground Man to claim the reward. |

| 1 | In the Grand Underground, head to the Secret Base you have just created. Press A while facing the doorway to enter your Secret Base. |

| 2 |  Press X to bring up the statue options or interact with the orb to your right. Select Place a statue from the options. |
| 3 |  Select any square in your base and choose a statue from your Statue List that you want to place. You can find statues by digging for treasure in the Grand Underground. |
| 4 | After placing a statue in your Secret Base, head back up to the surface and speak to the Underground Man to claim the reward. |

| 1 |  Through the online feature of the Grand Underground, you can meet up with other players underground and even enter their Secret Bases. |

| 2 |  Find a player in the Grand Underground and communicate with them by pressing Y and selecting Call. After communicating with the player, wait for them to start their dig. |
| 3 | Interact with the shining spot beside the player and dig with them. Note:It appears you have a limited time to join another player when digging for treasure. Make sure to get to their digging spot as soon as you can! |
| 4 | Head back up to the surface and speak to the Underground Man to claim the reward. |

The Underground Man is located in Eterna City, in the house to the right of the Pokemon Center.
When doing the Underground Man's missions, it's best to enter the Underground from right outside his house, so that it's easy to return to him in order to claim the reward and start the next mission.

The trick is to start digging right after person starts digging and finish before them. Dont worry about the treasure, just get your hammer and start pounding away. I dont know how many times ive tried but when i did this, mission completed
