Spear Pillar Walkthrough

Spear Pillar Objectives

Steps to proceed through Spear Pillar
1 Walk forward and go up the stairs. Team Galactic will challenge you.
2 Keep going north, until you reach Commander Mars and Commander Jupiter. This will trigger a Team Battle and your rival will join you.
3 You will be challenged by Galactic Boss Cyrus. Defeat him.
Your rival will heal your Pokemon before the battle starts.
4 Face Dialga/Palkia.
Note: You will only encounter Dialga/Palkia once. This is your only chance to capture them. Make sure to save the game before starting the battle so you can soft reset just in case you end up killing it.
5 Don't forget to take the Adamant Orb/Lustrous Orb with you before heading back inside the mountain. You can use an Escape Rope to leave the area quickly.
You can find an Adamant Orb or Lustrous Orb at the northern part of the Spear Pillar.
6 Travel to Sunyshore City, and face the last Gym Leader.
Fly to Pastoria City. Then, pass through Route 213 and Route 222 to reach Sunyshore City.

Spear Pillar Tips and Strategies

Save Your Game Before Walking Towards Dialga or Palkia

Make sure to save your game before taking any steps towards Dialga or Palkia. Once you walk close enough to them, your character will automatically interact with them and start the encounter, barring you from saving your progress.

Obtain Orb at the Edge of the Map

Spear Pillar Orb

You can get the Adamant Orb intended for Dialga in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or the Lustrous Orb for Palkia in Pokemon Shining Pearl at the northernmost area of Spear Pillar. Walk north and descend the stairs to get these items.
