How to Check Nature

Check Trainer Memo in Pokemon Summary

Pokemon BDSP Check Natures

Check the Pokemon's nature by going to their Summary page. From there, go to the Trainer Memo tab, where it will list their nature in red at the top of the page.

Best Nature to Get

Increase Attack or Sp. Attack

Pokemon BDSP Attacks

If your Pokemon is using moves that are predominantly Physical, then it's best to get a Nature that increases its Attack stat, while decreasing its Sp. Attack stat. Conversely, if your Pokemon is using moves that are predominantly Special, it's best to get a Nature that increases its Sp. Attack, while decreasing its Attack stat.

In these cases, Adamant is recommended for Physical attackers, while Modest is recommended for Special attackers.

Check if move is Physical or Special via Move Summary

It's important to know whether the moves you'll have your Pokemon learn are Physical or Special moves. On the move summary page, a blast symbol denotes a Physical attack, while a 3-circled ripple denotes a Special attack.

What is Nature?

Affects Growth of Stats

Pokemon BDSP Nature Affect Stat Growth

A Pokemon's Nature will affect the growth of 2 of its different stats (Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense). Nature will increase the growth of 1 of the stats by 10%, while decreasing the growth of another by 10%.

The increased stat is denoted with a red arrow curving up, while the decreased stat is denoted with a blue arrow pointing down.

5 Neutral Natures

There exist 5 different natures that increase and decrease the same stat, thus making them neutral Natures. These are Bashful, Docile, Hardy, Quirky, and Serious.

Determines Berry Effectiveness

Pokemon Nature determines whether it likes or dislikes a Berry flavor. Some Berries replenish the HP of the Pokemon that consumes it, but if the Pokemon dislikes the berry, it could lead to the Pokemon getting confused. The Pokemon's preferred flavor of berry is similar to the preferred flavor of poffin listed below.

Affects Liked Flavors

A Pokemon's Nature also determines whether it likes or dislikes a Poffin flavor. If a Pokemon likes a flavor, the condition that the Poffin boosts will be boosed a bit more per Poffin. However, if it dislikes a flavor, the condition will be boosted a bit less. Below is the list of natures and their preferred Poffins:
