Pokemon BDSP Amity Square

Amity Square is a park you can stroll around in with up to 6 of your Pokemon. Read on to learn what to do in Amity Square, how to play and take pictures with your Pokemon, and all items that can be found in Amity Square in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP).

Amity Square New Features Guide

Stroll With Up to 6 Pokemon

Amity Square First Visit

Amity Square now allows you to stroll around with up to 6 eligible Pokemon in your party. In the previous games, you could only stroll around with 1 Pokemon. Your Pokemon don't just stroll directly behind you and are free to roam around.

Press the + Button to Whistle

Whistling in Amity Square

Pokemon you stroll with in Amity Square may wander around the park and run away from you. Press the + Button to whistle and they will come back to your location!

Poffin Cooking Station

Amity Square Poffin Cooking

There is now a Poffin Cooking Station at the north side of Amity Square. Poffins are used to raise a Pokemon's conditions which include Beauty, Cool, Cute, Smart, and Tough for boosting the Pokemon's score in Super Contests. Cooking Poffins in Amity Square allows your Pokemon to watch in the background as you cook.

Photo Taking

Pokemon BDSP Amity Square Photo

You can enable a Photo Mode in Amity Square, where you can adjust the angle and zoom of the camera.

Moving the right joystick up or down will change the camera angle, while moving it left or right will zoom it in and out respectively.

Take a photo using the Nintendo Switch Capture Button. The photos taken can be saved to your Album in Pokemon HOME, provided that you have an account.

Amulet Coin

Item Description
Amulet Coin An item to be held by a Pokemon. It doubles a battle's prize money if the holding Pokemon joins in.

You can find the Amulet Coin inside the left house, of the 2 rock houses on the upper level of Amity Square. The Amulet Coin doubles the monetary reward you receive for every Pokemon battle, if a Pokemon holding it participates in the battle. The Amulet Coin greatly helps with farming money.

Volt Switch TM

After making its attack, the user rushes back to switch places with a party Pokemon in waiting..

You can find the Volt Switch TM directly south of the water fountain. Volt Switch is an essential move for Pokemon intended to be pivots, which allows them to damage its opponents and switch out to another Pokemon in the same turn.

Spooky Plate

Spooky Plate Amity Square

Item Description
Spooky Plate An item to be held by a Pokemon. It is a stone tablet that boosts the power of Ghost-type moves.

You can find the Spooky Plate at the northeastern-most corner of Amity Square, outside the rightmost rock house on the upper levels. The Spooky Plate comes in handy boosting Ghost-type moves against Fantina's own Ghost Pokemon, as the Ghost-type deals 2x damage to itself. It's also useful to run Ghost-types against Maylene, as Fighting moves don't affect the Ghost-type.

Attract TM

Attract
(TM No. 45)
If it is the opposite gender of the user, the foe becomes infatuated and less likely to attack.

The Attract TM can be picked up in the north section of Amity Square. Attract is a decent stall move to use in order to immobilize the opponent with love.

Items from Walking Pokemon

BDSP - Farming Items in Amity Square.png

When interacting with your Pokemon, you can also get Berries, Stickers, and different types of Poke Balls from them. They will often pick up an item after around 3 minutes of walking, but will not pick up items while standing still.

The fastest way of farming several items from Amity Square is by walking in circles with a full party of 6 decently fast Pokemon that can keep up with the player's speed and talking them every 3 minutes.

These Berries have strong tastes and are meant to be used in cooking Poffins, If you get a Berry from a Pokemon you're strolling with, you can plant them to get more in the future!

You can also obtain different types of stickers from your Pokemon while walking them in Amity Square. These stickers can be placed on Ball Capsules to add flair to battles and score extra points in Super Contest Shows.
