Old Chateau Walkthrough

You Can Enter the Old Chateau After Getting Your Second Badge

Earning the second badge will let you use the TM Cut outside of battle. Using this move in the overworld will cut down trees that are blocking your way such as the ones outside of the Old Chateau.

However, even though you can already go inside the Old Chateau after defeating Gardenia, there isn't anything special in this place except for a few items. It is okay if you continue with the story first and just come back after you have completed your National Dex.

How to Unlock the National Dex

Catch Rotom After Getting Your National Dex

After getting your National Dex from Professor Oak, head back to the Old Chateau at night and go to the second floor. Enter the middle entryway and go inside the second room to the left. Interact with the TV to catch Rotom - an electric ghost Pokemon!

Get the Secret Key After Catching Rotom

Catching Rotom successfully will automatically earn you the Secret Key. This item is essential in changing Rotom's form. You can use the Secret Key in the Eterna Building in Eterna City.
