Catch in Lake Acuity

Pokemon BDSP Uxie

Uxie will appear at Acuity Cavern, the cave in the middle of Lake Acuity after defeating Team Galactic at Mt. Coronet and either catching or defeating Dialga or Palkia.

It is stationary and will not roam around unlike Mesprit. Make sure to save the game before interacting with it!

We recommend bringing a Dark-type Pokemon for this battle. Uxie won't be able to do anything against Dark-type Pokemon and will allow your team to stay healthy while up against Uxie.

Recommended Moves: Recommended Moves:

Thunder Wave

When facing Uxie, we recommend using either Blastoise with Yawn and False Swipe, or Absol with Thunder Wave and False Swipe. These Pokemon give you a reliable way to whittle down the opponent's HP as low as possible, and access to a status-inflicting move to improve catch rates.

Absol is the best choice here thanks to its immunity to Uxie's Psychic-type moves, Extrasensory and Psychic. While paralysis from Thunder Wave does not improve catch rate as well as sleep does, it is still a reliable status affliction that you don't have to reapply every few turns.

Best Balls to Use

In case a Quick Ball on turn 1 did not succeed, the Dusk Ball is a reliable go-to ball to use instead.

If about a dozen turns have passed, you may also rely on the Timer Ball for higher success rates of capture.

If you are missing a legendary Pokemon, especially those that are time-limited, we suggest transferring the Pokemon from Legends: Arceus via Pokemon HOME!

How to Get a Shiny Uxie

Uxie, as well as the other Lake Spirits, are not shiny locked so make sure to save before engaging it in battle.

You can try catching a shiny Uxie by soft resetting. It may take you several resets before a shiny shows up, so make sure you're ready with the right Pokemon and a healthy stock of Poke Balls in your bag.

Best Natures for Uxie

Bold or Timid Natures are Best

List of Recommended Natures
Bold
Defense Attack
Timid
Speed Attack

For players who intend to use Uxie to its full potential, we recommend looking for one with a Bold or Timid. Uxie isn't really as offensively strong sa others in its trio so it might be better to capitalize on its defensive stats instead, Alternatively, you can take advantage of this bulk and give yourself a chance to set up with Nasty Plots before adopting a tank approach.

For Story Playthroughs, Attack and Speed Increasing Natures Should be Fine

When playing the main story, it isn't really necessary to have the best nature. Having any nature that boosts Special Attack or Speed should be fine. You will be able to change natures using Mints in the post-game so you can worry about that after clearing the main campaign.
