How to Grow Berries

Plant in Soft Soil

Berry Soil.png

Plant berries in patches of soft soil in order to grow berry trees that produce more of the berry you planted. Each type of berry tree has different growth rates, but they all progress through the same 5 stages: just planted, sprouted, growing, blooming, and ripe for picking.

Water When Soil is Orange

Gray soil indicates that the soil is dry. The longer the berry tree is left in dry soil, the less berries it will produce. Soil is still good when it's dark brown, while a light brown to orange color means its on its way to drying up. If you spot a patch of soil that is orange, make sure to water it immediately in order to prevent it from drying up.

Pick Berries Before Plant Regrows

A berry tree is ripe for picking for an amount of time equal to how long it took it to fully grow. Afterward, it will revert back to a sprout and begin its growth cycle again.

Best Locations to Grow Berries

The best location to grow berries would be in locations easily accessible by the Fly TM, so that it will be easy to revisit the area regularly and water the soil. It would also be better if you didn't have to pass through tall grass in order to get to the soil patch. Below is a list of such soil patches:

Berry Patch Location Advantages
Route 205 ・Soil patch is right beside entrance to Eterna City
・No need to pass tall grass or trainer battles
・Plant up to 4 Berry Trees
Solaceon Town ・Directly accessible by Fly

Route 209 ・Just south of Solaceon Town
