Breloom's most standard set. This set aims to put Pokemon to sleep with a fast Spore, then switching out to a Pokemon more suited to the match up. This is sure to put the game's tempo in your favor. Technician-boosted Bullet Seed and Mach Punch are powerful tools, even on neutral hits.
Its Technician Ability allows Breloom to deal sizeable damage. While not a sweeper itself, it can reliably pick off Pokemon with low HP.
Use Swords Dance on opponents if you're anticipating a defensive switch.

12 HP EVs will allow Breloom to make four Substitutes instead of three, assuming it does not take any other damage. Breloom is possibly the best Focus Punch user as it can reliably put opponents to sleep with Spore, and hide behind a Substitute.
Breloom can be a nuisance for opponents by being able to put their Pokemon to sleep with Spore. Being the fastest Spore user next to Smeargle, Breloom will be prone to getting targetted, so using Protect to protect it from damage and preserving its Focus Sash will ensure that it can stick around longer and put more Pokemon to sleep.
Rock Tomb | Because of Breloom's Technician Ability, it is able to do sizeable damage with Rock Tomb. It is also a good means of Speed Control. |

Stone Edge | A decent option for opposing Gyarados or Zapdos that would try to switch in to our Breloom. |
Facade | Breloom's Poison Heal Ability allows it to be poisoned and dish out boosted Facades. |

✔︎ Has respectable Attack and Speed Stats ✔︎ Very fast Spore |
✖︎ Is walled by bulky Grass Pokemon ✖︎ Has a very limited movepool. |
Breloom's decent speed allows it to be a reliable Spore user. With Focus Sash, it is always expected to survive at least one hit before putting something to sleep. Use Spore against Trick Room users or Pokemon that use set up moves like Dragon Dance.
All of Bullet Seed's multiple hits will be boosted by Breloom's Technician Ability, threatening knock outs on Pokemon that are equipped with Focus Sash. While Focus Sash may be commonly seen in competitive play, it is rather uncommon in the Battle Tower.
Battle Tower Strategy and Recommended Pokemon
Because of its priority, Mach Punch will go first most of the time. This is a good move to use for picking off Pokemon that are low on health.
Breloom can reliably set up a Substitute, and consequently a Focus Punch thanks to its decent Speed, and access to Spore.
Pokemon with type advantages against Breloom's offensive moves will always give it a hard time. Fake Out users can break Breloom's Focus Sash, so use Protect when expecting it. Pokemon holding Lum Berry or Chesto Berry don't mind being put to sleep.
