Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes about 20 to 30 hours of play time to complete the main story and about 40 hours if you include the side quests. Read on to find out how long to beat Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as how long it takes to 100% complete the game.

How Long to Beat Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Game Feature Est. Play Time to Beat
Main Story 20 ~ 30 Hours
Side Quests 40+ Hours
Post-Game 60 ~ 70 Hours
100% Completion 90+ Hours

20 ~ 30 Hours for the Main Story

Pokemon Legends Arceus Legendaries

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will take about 20 to 30 hours of play time if you play casually and just focus on the main story. This includes doing the tutorial and watching the dialogues in the game.

However, since it's a complete departure from previous Pokemon games, players will have to learn new mechanics like how to catch Pokemon, how to battle using strong and agile style, and how to quell frenzied Noble Pokemon.

Your play time depends on how fast you can learn these new mechanics, as well as finish all main quests in the game.

40+ Hours for Main Quests and Side Quests

Doing all the side quests along with the main story would take you about 40 hours depending on how fast you can finish them.

The game offers plenty of side quests like finding the different forms of Unown and scouring Hisui to find all 107 wisps to summon Spiritomb among others.

We recommend doing side quests so you can get to know the minor characters in Jubilife Village, as well as watch the village prosper as you help its people forge a bond with Pokemon.

60 ~ 70 Hours for Main Quest, Side Quests, and Post-Game Content

Just like previous Pokemon games, Pokemon Legends: Arceus has post-game content where players can catch mythical Pokemon like Shaymin and Darkrai. This is also the part where players can catch all Legendary Pokemon available to the game.

Aside from catching legendaries, there is also a story that you can follow after the credits roll. You can help build Hisui into the Sinnoh we now know.

You can also catch Arceus in the post-game by catching all Pokemon in the Hisui Dex. This might take some time especially because there are Pokemon that appear only Space-Time Distortions like the fossils. You'll need a combination of skills and luck to be able to catch them all.

Your play time depends on how fast you can catch the legendary and mythical Pokemon, do the main quests, finish the side quests, and catch one of each Pokemon in order to catch Arceus. This might take you a little more than 60 to 70 hours to finish.

90+ Hours to 100% the Game

Pokemon Legends: Arceus has plenty to offer when it comes to world exploration and meaningful objectives. After the credits roll, you can still find many things to do like finishing every research task for each Pokemon.

If you are going to 100% the game, it might take you more than 80 hours.

This includes finishing the main story and side quests, catching one of each Pokemon, catching all Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, reaching Rank 10 in Survey Corps, upgrading your satchel to its largest capacity, and achieving research Level 10 for each Pokemon in your Pokedex.

The satchel upgrades are very expensive and simply reaching Research Level 10 for each Pokemon won't get you to Rank 10. Both will take up plenty of time and in-game money to achieve.

Completing the game 100% isn't for everybody and it's totally fine if you choose not to. Finishing the main story line and the post-game is enough for you to fully enjoy the game.
