Wurmple's Path of Solitude Walkthrough

Mission Objectives

Steps to proceed through Wurmple's Path of Solitude
1 Speak to Gared at the Training Grounds.
2 Talk to Ingo at the Training Grounds with only a Wurmple in your party and select Path of Solitude.
3 Defeat Ingo's Level 50 Staraptor with your Wurmple.
4 Return to Gared to complete the request.

Recommended Wurmple Nature and Moveset

Nature Jolly (↑ Speed ↓ Special Attack)
Level Lv. 95 or higher
Moveset Tackle
Poison Sting

It is recommended that Wurmple have a large level advantage over Ingo's Staraptor as our Wurmple will be at a type disadvantage.

Staraptor is a very challenging matchup for Wurmple. We can even out this matchup by increasing Wurmple's Effort Values for its HP, Defense, and Special Defense up to 10.

Wurmple - How to Get and Location

Poison Staraptor with Poison Sting

How to Beat Staraptor
1 Take a hit from Staraptor because it will naturally outspeed Wurmple
2 Start with a Strong-style Poison Sting
3 Staraptor will then get to move twice, and take two turns of Poison damage.
4 Finish out the match with another Strong-style Poison Sting

Maximizing Wurmple's defenses so that it can survive at least three Gusts from Staraptor will help win this matchup. Poisoning it will also help whittle down Staraptor's HP and eventually defeat it.
