Diablo 4 (D4)

In-game Trading Suspension

Trading is now restored in Diablo 4 (D4) after Blizzard suddenly disabled it last August 14, 2023, to put a halt on players taking advantage of the gold and item exploits. Read on to learn more about Blizzard's announcement and actions regarding the trading suspension.

In-game Trading Restored

Trading was Re-enabled on August 16, 2023

Access to trading items and gold has been restored as of August 16, 2023. As of the moment, Blizzard has yet to discuss the details of the controversy.

Was In-game Trading Disabled?

Trading was Disabled last August 14, 2023

In an attempt to save the current game economy, Blizzard announced that they were temporarily disabling in-game trading due to the item and gold duplication exploits circulating around the community.

Blizzard gave assurance that exploiters would be sanctioned in accordance with their End User License Agreement.

Gold and Item Exploits

Item Duping

Players have found a way to dupe perfectly rolled items and trade them to multiple players for profit. This is done through different methods, like meddling with game files or playing around with server connections during trading.

Urn of Bargaining Exploit

The Urn of Bargaining exploit allowed players to sell items with a 15% markup and repurchase them at the original price. This permits exploiters to keep 15% of the total sale each time the process is done.

Transfering Gold from Eternal to Seasonal Realm

Another exploit is allowing players to access their Eternal Characters in the Seasonal Realm. This was done by playing around with the connection server until they got access to their Eternal Characters in the Seasonal Realm.

These players would then transfer gold and items from their Eternal Inventory to the Seasonal one.

Note that taking advantage of these exploits is against the terms and services of Blizzard and is a bannable offense.

Trading Alternatives

Dropping Items on the Ground

D4 Dropping Items on the Ground
You can still trade in-game items by partying up and dropping items on the ground. This won't allow you to transfer gold but you can still trade or give items if you need to.
